so Mint, pp and Huffleduck, you gals live in the U.S so do you get the latest release anime/manga? (translated into english of cos unless you understand jap)

There is one new manga...well not actually new since it was based on Fushigi Yuugi. It is about the first priestess (the priestess of Genbu). Can't wait to lay my hands on that manga since Watase Yuu did a great job with Ayashi no Ceres and Fushigi Yuugi. And of cos, not to mention the sheer amount of bishounens *drools*

I finally got my hands on the new FAKE translations by Tokyo Pop, I've had the Japanese versions of it for a while now...but they didn't do me much good. But really, the manga is so good. Not for everyone...but so good nonetheless sanami matoh is a genius.

Anyway - Choki - tell me the name of manga!!! I will see if we have it, I want to read it tooo!!!!

PP - Child's Toy (kodocha) is available in fansubs (meaning that fans put subtitles on the tapes/dvds) However, since the rights to release this Anime have been bought - the Fansubs are erm...not legal. But if u can get a copy of it from someone - its ok. Its not released anyway.

I have no idea about the name of that manga in japanese or english...I only have the chinese title...梦幻游戏玄武开传 (translated into english, it will be Mysterious Play. The Legend of Genbu) but then again...japanese words look almost the same as chinese characters...so look out for 玄武 it means Genbu (the tortoise-snake deity) and it has something to do with Fushigi Yuugi (remember there are 4 guardian beasts)
It is basically another legend told in the universe of the 4 gods...
Hope it is not very confusing! And to tell you the truth, the chinese edition haven't been released yet *hides under the desk before Mint throws another chocolate chicken* It will be released somewhere in this month

If you can't see the chinese words I wrote, maybe you should try to change the encoding of this page to Chinese Traditional (Big 5)

Now I remember! Its the story of the pristess that went into the world before Miaka. So this IS Fushigi Yuugi - its like prequel lol.

Well, the manga is still running in Japan but....U do know that that story didn't end well

...and I doubt they can change anything just because it is a prequel...

Ya I know the ending isn't very good...but who knows...if I remembered correctly, the Genbu story was only told from the view of Miaka's brother and Yui's boyfriend (I think they are called Keisuke & Tetsuya)

So nobody really knows what happened to the Genbu priestess, right? I mean it could be a different ending from the one mentioned in Fushigi Yuugi! lol what am I trying to say...let's just say NOBODY knows what exactly happened to the priestess and her father...

I thought that Tomohome told Miaka or...one of the other "World" residents.... :-?

but yeah...hopefully its not that bad...thought look at Ceres - that didn't end too well... Oh and FY manga - look at poor Yui!!! :evil:

She was my fav. character - thats why I never bothered to read manga! :evil:

But I haven't heared about it being released here in US. Hm... For some reason I think they release manga after it ended in Japan..but I may be totally wrong ^^

U know what I was to look at? Tokyo Mew Mew manga - have u seen it Choki?

Lol, Yui was my fav. character too! I always wonder if she was related to Tenoh Haruka from Sailormoon :lol:

Did something bad happened to her in the manga? I thought the story in the manga and anime series,OVAs were the same...the worst thing that had happened to Yui, was the fact that she was eaten by Seiryuu but then Miaka saved her...hmm or when Yui thought she was raped.

What is Tokyo Mew Mew? Never heard of it. About cats?

OMG!!! Thats why she was My fav character!!! I found out about the series by watching a music video with FY. and she reminded me of Haruka - so she immediately became my fav. character - and becuase of that I totally hated FY - cuase it was "Miaka, miaka, miaka" :evil:

Well, I didn't read manga - but my friend told me that Yui dies at the end. (perminantly)

And Miaka goes home with the guy. :evil:

Tokyo Mew Mew - its like a rip off from Sailor Moon. But instead of "sailor" outfits - they transform into "cat" outfits

Yui died??? That's real strange because after the incident of Seiryuu and Suzaku entered the real world, Yui was practically written off the script (well, manga actually)
She only appeared in a few parts...she got in the same high school as Miaka (meaning she didn't do very well in her exams

) and became the vice-president of the student council. And she got injured walking past the corridor when the windows shattered :-?

I, too, never read any FY manga so I can't be sure about the ending...but if she dies too, it will be so sad. I was devastated when Nuriko died :cry:

(wait a minute, I don't think she died...Yui was there (along with her i-m-cool-if-i-wear-my-shade boyfriend) in the final OVA where Miaka and Taka got married and Miaka was pregnated with Taka's child

Oh, FY, the anime kinda annoys me with Miaka's whining and it drags on for too long. I stopped watching after episode 5. There is this really cool manga called Pet Shop of Horrors, it's really funny and kinda scary too.

There aren't much of shojo manga coming out right now. I am still collecting manga Kodocha, Pet shop of Horrors, and Vampire game.

I heard Kare Kano, Marmalade Boys, and Boys over flowers are pretty good.

There are Peach Girl, INVU (or smth), DiGiCharat, Wild Act, Ceres,Tokyo Mew Mew, Miracle Girls, Saint Tail,.....and tons of others. In fact, i think there is more of new shojo manga then shonen.

Which reminds me - there are 2 really cool new shojo mangas that are out! PitaTen - very funny and cute! Its about angel-girl that came into boy's life after his mother died. Don't think AMG! though - these are kids we are talking about, and the Angel girl (Misha) loves the kid as "mother" not as girlfriend. When U r at a book store - pick it up and read it - u'll see what Im talking about.

Also, really really cool shojo manga - Zodiac PI I started reading the 1st volume - its sooo cool! And beautiful!

Pet shop of horrors - funny? i thought it was suppose to be scary...

I don't know about US...since I live half a globe away from it...but there are loads of shoujo manga
And I suppose the manga that are translated in my country, are still running in Japan. So it is kinda the latest...maybe a few months of delay

Full Metal Panic (anime&manga)- I haven't seen this one before but it is similar to Love Hina.

Fruit Basket (anime&manga) - About a cursed family whose members will change into an animal whenever hugs by a opposite gender! (Ranma 1/2 anyone?) It's quite hilarious according to my friend. I haven't seen it too...

Absolute boyfriend??? (translated from chinese) A new manga from Watase Yuu as well...it is about a girl who buys herself a boyfriend! Seems funny to me :lol:

Full Metal Panic - seen 1 eps, didn't like it. 1)They wanted to mutalate that poor girl!!! :eek:

2)robats 3)nurses (i dont think i need to say more :oops:

) And it wasn't even interested.....it was like Gundam Wing with the girl being used to control robot things....
We have the anime running on the Anime Channel. The manga is out too..

Fruit Basket - both anime and manga is out. I saw 1 episode (like from the end of the series) awhiiiiile ago (fansubed) and it has more drama then comedy

Really really sad!! Probably because it was near end (eps.31 or smth)

I haven't heared about Absolute Boyfriend - sounds like fun though :grin:
