Anyone got any book ideas for when it's all over with HP?

Postby Snow_Crystal » Friday 24 February 2006 1:39:14pm

When I went out to buy HBP at midnight the night it came out, I sat there for ages and ages, worrying about reading the book. It must have been an hour after I got home that I actually started to read it - I just stared at it for ages and didn't want to pick it up!

It was unbearable because I knew that once I had read it, the story would seem that little bit closer to the end. It felt like I wanted to know but didn't at the same time

I really dread the end of HP, what I am going to read after the series I just don't know, has anyone got any suggestions? I'm curious about a Series of Unfortunate Events, have read all the LOTR books and Narnia some years ago.

I like books for everyone and will consider most things that have a decent plot!

Well, that goes for me too!!!

Except, I read it straight away, and then stopped halfway through and was like, "Hey, this is the 2nd to last book!!! AHHH" lol

Well Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paolini are good books...read Eragon first though...

Ummm...don't really know many other books...Da Vinchi Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and all the rest of his are good...

Its like Barry Trotter is to Harry Potter....a small silly book don't think its written by the same people but its the same idea...think there is another one on Lord of the Rings too but I can't remember what its called.

How about the series of seven- Crown of Stars- by Kate Elliot? Or the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony? Or the three trilogys by Robin Hobb? Or the Dragonlance series? Or the first 12 books of The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (the last one comes out next year)? Or the Belgariad by David Eddings? Or the series' by Katherine Kerr (Deverry...)? Or Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy?

I'd recommend anything By Terry Brooks or Terry Pratchett.

I mean Pratchett's best is Discworld, he usually adds roughly 2 books to it per year.

Terry Brooks has 3 series, Magic Kingdom of Landover one is finished but he has sold movie rights for it. He might add more to the Word and Void series but at the moment its a trilology (that you can buy as one book) and the series he has done most work on is Shannara and he usually brings out a new Shannara book in September each year.

My sister reccomend The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart....all about a Boy and his shaulie (security blankie) it seems.

Apparently it says somewhere on the books that they are perfect for people who have finished Harry Potter and need something new to read.
