i just finished Alice and Wonderland and am currently very confused. in the first chapter or two Alice says she wishes that she could shut up like a telescope...and that some other things could shut up like telescopes...wtf???does anyone know of that expression? GS and i have had a discussion on it and i've had one w/ my friend will...but to no avail...please...if anyone can...help this poor rabid chocobo out

I agree, that is pretty god damn stupid, not that i've read Alice in Wonderland for a lon time. I didnt really seem to notice it

She doesn't mean "shut-up" as in don't talk or speak. She means "closes-up". Like when she grows, in one movie, she says "Now I'm opening up like a telescope". So when she shrinks, she is shutting-up like a telescope. I hope that answers your question. :smile:
