Happy New Year

Postby salemboy » Wednesday 31 December 2008 4:47:02pm

I know that it is 27 minutes late where I live, an hour and 27 minutes late in Australia, and 11:33 minutes early in America, but Happy New Year.

I'd like to look back at 2008 in fond remembrance. In fact, one of the earlier big things I did in 2008 was join BaO. BaO was and is awesome to this day. I can't wait for how much better it will get next year.

I didn't do that much over the summer :-( , but I sure did have a few shockers, one of which being when I fell off of a 25-30 foot waterfall and belly-flopped. Not fun. . I had neck pains for a week.

Then, of course, I can't forget autumn, a time when school began. It's hard to beleive that the school year is already almost half-way over. . In fact, this school year probably has my highest school moments yet, and some of my lowest. Good: Journalism Class, Honors Class, Far East Journalism (a competition for all of the schools in my area), the extreme amount of time I spent after school to make up for all the days that I missed school (no, joke, school ends for me at 2:30, and for about two months, I was finally leaving at around 4:30 every day except friday). Also, with school, I have been able to resume Young Authors' Club, and as a result, been able to continue the editing process of my book.

And speaking of books, this year has been a great NanoWrimo year. I had loads of fun working on my prequel. It was also nice to be able to talk to other people while doing so (although my attempts to convince my non-digital friends to try it have been severely unsuccessful). Maybe one day I'll actually finish. .

And I cannot forget that this entire time, I have been having fun with the NG RPGs, the Six Wizard RPG, and everything in between (along with my rather long session of unceasing Zonko's spamming  ).

This year looks to be even more promising. I'll be getting a job this summer, will get to see my Grandparents for two weeks beforehand, and will get to take the SAT, and see how I fare against the older kids. I hope that the NG series will continue to thrive, and that we might even be able to get into a duel or two. I can't wait. See ya guys.

P.S. By the way, by the time I finished this, it was 47 minutes late.

Woot! Happy New Year to everyone, even though it is-- *checks clock* 12 hours and 17 minutes early where I live! What a year, huh?

I finished writing a novel for the first time ever!

I got my first singing solo!

My team won the school-wide competition for a quiz show about drugs and alchohol!

America elected its first African American president!

I met so many new, great friends!

The Tales of Beedle the Bard was published!

I wrote my first song!

I started learning French!

I memorized 3 pages of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone!

Three friends and I started a novel together!

And...

Today happens to be my 3 year aniversary for joining BaO!

Happy 2009 everyone!...and happy 3rd anniversary Fawkes! For me, I'm hoping 2008 saw the start of a light starting to re-appear at the end of a long tunnel. The year started as badly as 2007 was, but bit by bit things started to improve in 2008.

Some of this has meant lots of work, including overtime at my day job which has meant I've not been able to spend as much time at BaO as I'd like, but I've got lots of plans to improve and expand BaO, so yes it will indeed continue to get even better.

Interestingly for me who isn't into sports, one of the things I enjoyed most this year was the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics. Part of it I think was the setting, location and culture, but certainly the Paralympics was inspiring with the atheletes' determination, and an opening ceremony that I found very touching and emotional.

This year, Christmas has been peaceful and pleasant, and hopefully 2009 will continue to see that little candle grow brighter. I wish that everyone's light of hope shines strongly in 2009 too.

In the words of George Weasley,
'Ear 'ear!
I'll drink to that! *pulls out a few bottles of various sparkling juices and pours some glasses*
Hmm.... There doesn't seem to be a New Year's smilie, so we'll have to make do with :happy birthday:

Well, it's still 1 hour and 42 minutes early, but since I have to work at 9am tomorrow morning, I'm not staying up until midnight anyway. So Happy New Year!

Let's see, I just missed my 2 year anniversary on here.

-I graduated community college and got my Associate's Degree.

-Got into a few 4 year colleges and made a decision as to which one to go to.

-Lived away from home for the first time.

-Finished 2 novel length fan fics and started 2 others.

-Started and finished my NaNo.

Hmm, I think that's all the exciting stuff. Happy 2009! :double jump:

12 Hours into the new year! happy new year everyone!

2008 in perspective! It is 18 months since the release of the final addition to the HP series.

The half blood prince failed to hit the box office but thank goodness it didn't go straight to DVD!

I found this forum after another one broke my heart by crashing right in the middle of an awesome RPG.

I had a baby boy who I named Riley!

I discovered InkSpell and InkHeart!

shall continue later...
