St Nicolaus' Day

Postby Phinea Rogue » Tuesday 7 December 2004 3:48:20pm

Yesterday it was St Nicolaus' Day in many European countries and I think that he has stopped at BaO too.

*looks around*

Yes, there's a huge pile of sweets and chocolate in front of the teacher's table in Great Hall! :christmas: :christmas: :christmas: Happy St Nicolaus' Day for everyone!

*starts getting into pre-Christmas mood*

Yay! I got a thick book on Photoshop, a T-shirt and LOTS of sweets as a present. Oh, and I forgot to mention the Milka-cow!

* Picks out a sweet from the table * Yummy - thanks Phinea. A belated happy St Nicolaus' Day everyone! I'd never realised he had his own special day either. He deserves it though - all the work he does to get all the presents delivered at Christmas.

Yikes, Mint - not sure if I could survive without chocolate. :)

Well, what I've got is just a toy cow with a Milka brand, not a bag.

That's Milka. It's a chocolate brand and their mascot is a purple cow. I live near a Milka factory (in fact it was invented somewhere here about three million years ago) and every year there's the Milka festival and you get lots of free chocolate (mostly Naps, very small pieces of chocolate which look just like their older siblings shown in the picture above).
A friend of mine once won her weight in chocolate - about 55 kilogrammes of lovely chocolate.

Milka Alpenmilchschokolade (meaning that the cows live in the Alps...)

Milka cow. There's Nivea, there's Manner and there's Milka. I think, concerning chocolate, only some of Lindt's are a bit better. And I'm not such a big chocolate fan.

Oh, I just saw that today's the 16th. I read "Dec 09" and thought, "Wow, just today." I'm always confused with that. Sorry.

three million years ago?!?!? It must have been invented by aliens!! I knew that they existed!!!! :P

lols! Sorry. But yeah, thats what I thought Milka was :D Thank you for the links!!! ^-^ You must get a LOT of chocolate since you are located so close to it.

Broccoli - yeah it was definitely a "cow" bag with milka chocolate in it. (not that Fool on the hill sent the links - Im sure thats what it was) ^-^

Well I've got a Milka Advent calendar. Yummy. On the front of each Naps there is a lovely picture and on the back you can find a riddle. There's Milka chocolate in every supermarket, yes.

They do not only use the purple cow to advertise their product. Once there was an old man wearing a woollen hat and looking somewhat crazy, he went to the casting and came up with "It's cool, man" - they didn't look for him, he just appeared. The ad was very popular because it was so dumb, you know, mountains in the background, old guy with sun glasses, hat and white beard, holding a bar of chocolate - It's cool, man  Ah, memories.
At the moment they advertise with computer-animated marmots and moles. It's kinda freaky that the ad actually suggests hairy gnawers are producing chocolate.

Oh I think we're off topic. Ahem... there are Milka chocolate Nicholases, too. They are purple like the cows. :)
