If you could read anyone/anything...

Postby Scellanis » Sunday 18 June 2006 4:44:16pm

If you could read anyone or anything out of a book like Mo did who/what would it be?

I haven't finished the book yet, was reading it on the bus home but I get travel sick when I read so I ended up putting it down and got round to agreeing with Meggie and thinking I'd love to be able to do that but then I thought...who would I want to read out of a book? My first thoughts was wouldn't it be fun to have an elf or Samwise out of Lord of the rings but then I remembered the Shanarra stories....

Come to think of it it would actually be quite fun to try reading out loud my own character profile for my Roleplay character, I think if I could release anyone from the pages it would be my own Pearl.

I think it would be fun to have your favourite characters near you, but when I imagine that they will probably be confused about this whole new world they have to live in, I begin to think that it's better to leave them in their own stories.

I would read out Olivander so he could make me a wand !

Or I would read out a fairy or something magical like that

I would read out Sherlock Holmes. I have recently started reading the book and he was considerably more intelligent than I thought. He is more ingenious than anyone I have ever read about, which is saying something if I do say so myself, or met.

Hey! What about me? Huh? Jk.

Anyways, I would seriously read a scene from a Star Wars book where a character learns to use the force, but I'd cross out their name and put in mine. Force powers would rock.

Hmmm... excellent idea!
*Scans book shelf* let me think.... so many to choose from. Imagine unleashing a vampire into this world? Maybe Lestat from Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire? Or one of the Farseers from the Robyn Hobb series... ooo!!! Or there's Ford Prefect from A Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams....

but I think the one I will choose to unleash.... would be.......

our very own, HARRY POTTER.

Now how would THAT be? Woo hoo!

(oh darn.. or should I read out Dumbledore? Hmmm... or Hagrid? Or.... oh wow.. the choices!!!! I'm just so glad I can have them all just by reading about them and writing stories about what they might have gotten up to.. or might still be getting up to! :) )

I'd hold back on Harry Potter... Especially Voldy and the Six Wizards... I'd definitely like Hogwarts, though... But imagine accidentally bringing Inu in... Scary thoughts, there.

Hmmm... The only problem with reading Harry out would be that he would no longer be in the books to save the wizarding world...

I wonder if you could read Sirius out just before he went through the arch and so save his life...would have to be a really talented Silver tongue for that though I bet.
