Favourite Character in HBP...(New or Old)

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Favourite Character in HBP...(New or Old)

Postby Scarlet Lioness » Sunday 17 July 2005 11:33:41am

I just thought it would be useful to know who people dislike or like in the new book???

I for one don't really care for Slughorn I just don't like him and I couldn't really stand Tonks's attitude I know it's hard to loose someone close but yeah...

I don't really know who I liked in this book...probably Ginny I thought her and Harry were important in this book...

Anyways I choose not to do this as a poll since I know I would leave someone off..so yeah...

Post your opinions...

I like Ginny (a decent character now rather than some-one who ran away when Harry was near)
I liked Tonk in the last one, but I think JK was just making her look knackered etc in this book as then it's another "I wonder what that's about" storyline, and the reason is she's in luuuurve.
Still likeHermione, tho. Ron just seems fairly useless to me, tho. quite amusing. I get the impresion him and Hermione have kissed but just not revealed it to anyone, then got into arguments (I see their future relationship as incredibly complicated - like their friendship really - both too stuborn)

Snape is still my favorite. (Even if i'm wrong about him killing dumbledore on dumbledore's orders)

my list of favourite characters is quickly being depleted and killed off book by book.

in HBP after despising him in OotP, harry is now on my list of favourite characters. i know that may sound stupid, a bit duh, well obviously. but no i wasn't until HBP that i really liked harry, even before i hated him in OotP, he annoyed me. hard to say why he really proved himself to me in HBP and it's not till now that he has been on my list of favourite characters.

and lupin and tonks. i liked that, that genuinly made me feel all warm and fluffy inside. he deserves happiness. oh and good news, lupin will DEFINITLY NOT be killed by peter pettigrew and his silver hand. yes. that makes me happy, cos that would've really annoyed me if that had happened. JKR just confirmed it on the only interview she gave after the launch.

I must say i have to agree with every word of that statement. I actually didnt like harry for his self-centered attitude until now, when he begins to shed that aspect

i know he really took me by surprise when he said to DD at the start that he wasn't going to let sirius' death box himself in or something, but everything he said in that bit really redeemed him for me. i was going, 'oh great, here we go again, mopey, stropy harry about to throw another temper tantrum...'

but no, and even in the first four books he wasn't paticularly dear to me. i think it was because he didn't show much emotion (apart from when he was angry) i don't know but i never warmed to him until i read HBP. great harry's going to die. any character i like dies. notice i said lupin won't be killed by the silver hand, but he could still be killed in many many gruesome ways....*sigh*.

My group of favorite characters is growing smaller and smaller. First Sirius, then Dumbledore. I really hope that Lupin doesn't die in the next book.

I liked Sirius but now I guess I will have to stick with Lupin. I got confused and thought Tonks was one of Harry's classmates at the begining of the book xDD. Yeah, I probably should have re-read all of the books before HBP came out. My second favorite character is now Snape (hopefully he's still good :o). Although I do like Fred and George. Okay, I'll just stop the list there xD

A list of favorites? I don't know what to do. I couldn't do a list. And I certainly couldn't tell all the characters that I like. I know I'd leave someone out.

I like Harry, he has finally started to mature, I was ready to choke him in book 5. I'll always love Hermione. She reminds me of myself. But, sometimes she is way too focused on being right to remember anything about tactfulness. But, she may be my favorite. Ron is great for the comic relief. He has a way with words.

Sirius was great. I cried when he died. And DD, too. I was probably still crying on into the last page.

Fleur got on my nerves, but I did really like her when she refused to leave Bill. That was awesome. The Tonks/Lupin thing. I thought that was really abrupt, came out of nowhere. But, I must remind myself that there is a world beyond Harry, Hermione, and Ron. That relationship will probably be great. He does deserve some happiness, I always felt sorry for him.

I also like Tonks...shes cool but her attitude as understandable as it is, I got annoyed with it...

And I also agree with everything here...^^^^

I loved Sirius and DD and now they're dead...PoA was my favourite book and had all my favourite characters Sirius Remus and DD in it...

I'll be in hysterical tears if Lupin dies...worse than Sirius...

Harry and Ginny in this book cos its nice to have a bit of happiness and I feel that there charcters develope the most, but in other books its been other people Hagrid is deffinately up there his unwavering loyalty is very abmerable and its a nice touch when he is called into the office as well as the heads of houses

My favourite character hasn't changed, it's still Snape (though I'm quite angry at him right now). And then I liked Ginny a lot, she's getting better and better in every book, I adore her!

Slughorn too is interesting, though I can't say that he's among my favourites, but I kind of like him. Young Tom Riddle was interesting too, I like reading about him before he become Voldemort.

It's a pity that there wasn't more about Lupin. We've got to know more about him, but he didn't really play a big part in HBP, he rarely ever appeared in the book.
