Potter and Malfoy together?

Postby Cedric » Tuesday 15 March 2005 7:24:39pm

This is my first topic post and I looked over to see if there were any like this and I didn't see any. Sorry if I over-looked one.

But I read this over the net a while ago that a fan rumor was going around that Potter will need Malfoy's help in the future and that they will be working together to bring down Voldemort.

Personally, I find this funny considering the current hatered between these two but I wanted to know what y'all thought about this.

Well I'm a firm believer in Malfoy (or Snape) being the one to bridge the gap between the houses. Someone's gotta do it eventually, may as well be him. Can't think of anything that'd make him do that though.

What part of he's an evil little snot don't you people grasp? He openly supports Voldermort and his goals of killing off muggleborns. He's a spoilt little prat who think he is entitled to position and power and preference. He can't even fight his own battles. Why would anyone want anything to do with this sort of person?

Now what I'm going to say is way out there and probably will never happen. (Just wanted to let you know that).

What if Voldemort murders Malfoy's father? What if Malfoy's mother says something to him that changes his outlook on Potter? What she say's I have no clue.

What if...I don't know. I do believe that Malfoy's character is the snottiest of them all. And the chances of He and Potter getting along together is very remote...but what if...

I thin Rowling would explode if that happened. She couldn't handle such a paradox of characterization. The enemy becoming an ally is too anime even for me

I don't see any chance in those two for working together. They truly don't like each other. Draco thinks Harry to be far below him (and I think he also is quite jeallous of his fame) while Harry hates him for being the way he is.

Yeah, when I heard about it the first time, I was like whoa, what the hells going on here haha. But I wanted to know if people actually thought this was going to happen. I for one don't want to see them working together. I wouldn't mind seeing them fight each other in a duel again or something to that effect.

I very much doubt it. In all of the five books so far, Draco has shown absolutly no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Even Snape has shown that he can be good. And Draco is a freaking wuss too.

If anyone is to "bridge the gap" seperating Slytherin, I'd say it could be Theordore Nott.

Wait a minute. Who's Theordore Nott? I don't remember him for some reason. What book was he in?

I say yes. If the books are ever going to end right, he will have to. Many people that hate each other actually end up being very much alike, and end up needing each others' help... so well, maybe so, it is a HUGE possibility...

no,no,no,no. i also remember JKR explicatly saying that at no point would malfoy and harry work together. can't remember where but i remember reading it and going hmmm interesting. also tanki managed to put it into words pretty well,

well said. couldn't put it better myself. you can't change someone's belief system (or can you? snape?) and malfoy waking up one day, realising it's wrong to call people mudbloods, his dad is actually really not a good person and that voldemort isn't the ideal role model are pretty slim. that's like harry changing sides. not gonna happen (unless you believe some of the wilder theories). also he is such a coward, he's been shown up as a coward like a million times

but more thatn anything, if JKR said it wasn't going to happen i'd be inclined to believe her.

I think that harry and malfoys relationship is at the moment kind of the same as harry's dads and snapes. but when harry saw his dad in the pensive in snape's office harry was horrified by what his dad did to snape and he is afraid he might turn out like that with malfoy which he doesn't want because he thinks his dad is very arrogant. so therefore he may try to make friends with malfoy but he may be rejected by him.

Hate runs deep, and Harry knows Malfoy's character. Him trying to make friends with Malfoy would make no sense

Harry and Malfoy are as unlikely as Snape loving harry as Lucsious and Arthur Weasley. So, i doubt it will work out. Harry and Malfoy absolutely despise eachother, i think if anyone needs to bridge the two houses, it would not include harry in it in any way. i was thinking maybe Hermione? but, thats pretty unlikely as well. What would be different if the two houses didn't begin to see eachother in a different light?

i don't think they would. they would more likely end up working against eachother. or if they do it would more likely be like the way between Aruther and lucius
