harry and ginny!!

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

i don't believe that harry meant that he was in love with ginny all along when he made the comment about them having "ages together." i think he meant that he wished he had noticed her before. i find that totally realistic. girls mature faster than girls and it makes good sense that he wasn't particularly interested way back when. as for bonnie wright, i could care, really. the books and movies are two separate things in my mind. (however, i think she's adorable, so, maybe i'm biased anyway. i'm a redhead and i understand that... awkward... phase we go through at a young age.)
as for :
1. It's too convenient, it seems to me as though JKR was FOLLOWING the desires of fandom, where H/G started

i think we need to give jkr a bit more credit than that. she doesn't need us to write her stories for her. she's had it planned out for years. if she was really only following the desires of the fandom sirius and dd would still be alive. Also, it seems to me that in most of the hp books, anything that seems "too convenient" probably is hiding something much less "convenient."

i think it's more your perception and personal dislike of ginny that's colouring your resoning rather than concrete evidence from the book. the harry/ginny shippers have been here for a long time and have faced much ridicule for being 'obvious'. and in what world would cho and harry have ever worked? she had the least attractive personality ever. uugggghhh.

I was disappointed that at the end Ginny didn't try to persuade Harry to stay with her. I just hope things will change when they meet again at the wedding.

 Ginny was pulling an old female trick, act like you are listening and then do whatever you want to afterwards.

Ron and Hermione... Harry and Ginny...one big, happy Weasley family, or Harry's Creek?

I was sure the pairing was going to happen, I didn't ship it (I guess I'm too old to ship a teenager pairing), but I didn't mind either. Then came HBP and the horrible nightmare creature Ginny has become. Ginny hast been turned into a Mary Sue, accompanied by the dumbing down of Hermione and disappearance of Luna. I wish JKR had used a "Show, not tell" approach, let us see this true love develop, instead of just declaring it, just as suddenly as Ron declaring his undying love for Romilda, instead of having Quarterback/Head Cheerleader, Celeb/Supermodel shoved down our throats as the "ideal romance".
And the jealous, possessive, raging monster growing in Harry's chest...no no no. I'm pretty certain they won't last, at least I hope so, for letting twu wuv develop out of it would be just as realistic as McGonagall working in a peep show.

JKR did a much much better job with Ron and Hermione, I think.

well it wasn't the way that i iamgined them getting together either, and i would have preferred it to be more "show, not tell" as you put it, but i'm still happy enough. but actually i prefer watching how ron and hermione will unfold to H/G. i do think ron and hermione has been done much better, suppose cos it's been building for 5 books. but overall i'm happy enough.

The series is first and foremost about growing up. They're 16 years old now. Is it any surprise that the hormones are raging?

And as for magic being more important than love... haven't you listened at all to Dumbledore?
