Trelawny

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

maybe, maybe not

i think she has the gift but can't control it
reading cards can be learned, i reread some parts of my journal from arround the time my best friend died and i had made some notes about her predicting her own death, we joked about it, saying she made a mistake but ... no mistake. i stopped reading cards (learning how to read them) after that.

she didn't really tell me, she thought she had made a mistake.

the hardest part was when they told me and the funeral
i was at bording school so they phoned me. tom told me that i looked really white after that phonecall, he thought i was gonna faint or something

but it has been 3 years since, so apart from the occasional moments i'm fine. sometimes i'm telling her to pick up the phone and on other moments i just hate her for leaving me behind ...
sounds stupid but ...

no, it's not stupid. i'd be the same. after all you never really stop missing someone's who died. my granny who i was really close to died about 5 years ago and it's feels like it was yesterday to me, in fact just writing it there, realising i've went 5 years without seeing her. it doesn't feel that long ago and i still miss her soooo much.

but i think it would be worse to lose your friend, both of you are so young, it doesn't seem right, does it?

it isn't right

and then there is the guilt: if i just haddn't been so stubborn and went to the stupid party ...
i know, how was i to know (i've heard it a couple 100 times by now so)

but that was that and this is now. i don't think i'll let someone in so deep anymore
i mean, i tell some a lot but not as much as her. everyting changes, so have i

sorry about your friend and sorry to seem very cold and unfeeling, but back to the original topic, does anyone else think it's weird that Trelawny calls Voldemort the Dark Lord when HP says that only DEs call him that?

Maybe she's picking up on the vibes from death eaters, I dunno.

I thought she called him the Dark Lord because it sounds more mystical.

Maybe. She doesn't seem to remember it when she makes a genuine prophecy, so likely she doesn't choose her words.

Well he is a Dark Lord. Maybe Dark Lord is the universal mystical word for "Extremely Evil Dude".

Well that evil dude thing is what someone that's high would call them.

Um.... well, he is. Not that he is really a dude per se... it's kinda hard to say, you should be able to get a Ph.D in this stuff.

Haha, yeah! The at leats I'd know what I'd want to do with my life. Honestly some teachers, they say that you're supposed to know what you want to be when you're older, but then you've only just turned 14.
But any way back to the topic.

Okay, Dark Lord sounds more wise and all, maybe that's why Trelawney uses it. But then again, she's in a trance, so she wouldn't know the words she uses....
