scrimgeour

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

I was thinking about Scrimgeour last night and thought I'd check out whether anyone else had picked up on the Lion like features mentioned within the book..

Does anyone think he might be a Gryffindor descendant? Does anyone think that the reason he was interested in what DD was up to because he might have the missing Gryffindor horcrux in his possession (and may/may not know it) or that he might also be going after these horcruxes? Or that he might provide Harry a bit more history on the Gryffindor history?

I think it will turn out that Scrim has a public face but also a very private and very shrewd face underneath that.

For Harry to trust him though he will have to come clean and gain his trust and respect.

I think he'll turn out to be a force for good. After the disaster that was Fudge, surely JKR isn't going to force a second incompetent onto the magical community?

I agree - I don't think she would introduce Scrim at this stage if he wasn't important

Although...JKR has a habit of making authority figures an impediment to Harry. Certainly for the first half of the book, I don't see the MoM being a great help, probably the opposite.

I'm not really fussed on the new MoM...but we haven't seen what he's really like yet...

Shacklebolt mentions him as being a bit of a taskmaster in OotP, when Harry meets him in the Ministry.
Presumably he's got his finger on the button.

As someone said above, he's a military man and is presumably efficient. Seeing as he was head of the Auror Office, I really want to see him in action!
