Funniest characters?

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

But I think my favorite line in the harry potter series the one that really made me laugh was Ron in divisions class talking to Lavender Brown (page 178 Brit version, GOF),

"it is Uranus my dear, said professor Trelawney, peering down at the charts,
Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender? said Ron"

Now I don't know if JKR ment that (and I think she did), but that is one funny line.

Sad thing is I did my own version of this joke when I was at middle school. We were studying planets and my ex-girlfriend Samantha was standing on a bench looking at the planet poster (reading something) and I shouted "Sam, can you move a bit I can't see Uranus". Everyone burst out laughing except me who took 5 minutes before I got the joke.

Ever since then I've pronounced it Ur-ran-nus. :D

I think the whole "Uranus" gig happened to a lot of people...it happened to me and my best friend...I simply stated "Wow, Uranus is as big as Neptune! They could probably get mistaken for twins!" It wasn't until a few years later I realized why she turned red and ran out of the room...*sigh* :-?
Anyway, the funniest character I can think of is probably...well, James and Sirius, the things the Marauders got into...I chuckled quite a bit. Though Fred and George are of course up there.

I know neither of these are meant to be funny, but...something about Draco heckling Harry (esp. after Quidditch games), and Snape's hissy fits during double Potions, never fail to crack me up. That and Filch. He's just funny on general principles...poor disgruntled Squib is going to go postal before Book 7. Mark my words.

Ron, Ron, Ron!!!! He's the funniest person in the book!!! He's naturaly funny, and that's what I love about him! He doesn't want to be funny, h doesn't think:"Will this be funny?" before he says something. It all comes naturaly to him! That's the way he is-funny!
I find Fred & George funny too (afcourse), Lockhart (He's hilarious), Neville (he's not funny like Ron, he's got that something you can laugh to), McGonagoll (I LOVED her in 5th book), Arthur, Draco

Well, of course, without a doubt, Fred & George are by far two of my favorites when it comes to making me laugh...but let's not forget Arthur Weasley! Scenes with him discussing anything muggle-like are so freakin' hysterical! If these characters were real people and I got to choose to spend a day with any one character, I'd have to opt for Mr Weasley...he makes me laugh so hard.

And I would've completely overlooked Ron had someone not mentioned this -- how he says what other people may think but would think twice before saying it aloud. Ron just innocently blurts these things out and they are just too hysterical. Oh , and I loved when Ron tried to call harry of the felitone and yelled into the receiver...lol!

me again.....

Postby Augusta Longbottom » Friday 12 December 2003 5:44:18pm

sorry for the 2nd post, but I have two browser windows open and the other window is a post by Lizzy Bennet titled The 'Trio': Harry, Ron, and Hermione...

She mentions a great funny scene with HP (I'm new to the forum and never had to do a quote so bear with me...I hope I do this right):

Lizzy Bennet wrote:It's been mentioned once that Harry is one of the few characters that doesn't have a sense of humour, but I started re-reading book 5 yesterday, and that whole dialogue where he's mocking Dudley (calling him "Big D" and "Diddykins") and saying all this snarky stuff really cracked me up . . . I'll have to hunt up some quotes. I don't think Harry has the humour that Ron has naturally, but I do think he has his moments, even if the moments I recall him being funny are snarky ones.

I all but forgot how funny that scene was.

FRED and GEORGE (who doubts?) !

But I also like Snape's humour... ("I can teach you to bottle the fame...") and Little V (Voldemort): "Wormtail, you will perform a task many of my followers would have given the right hand to perform..." (this was in the beggining of the forth book). And how can you forget Peeves?? (j/k  )

And Ron, as said so many times... he totally makes me laugh.

I laugh a lot at Nelville... as well as Dursley. He's such a dork!
I also find myself giggling at Dobby - I think I have a crush on an elf

McGonagal- The way she reacts to Umbridge is priceless!
Dumbledore- That was so funny when he got really excited about the crackers in PoA at the Christmas feast. :D
