Percy Weasley

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Ok, I have a question. What do you think is going to happen to Percy in the next books?
I've heard rumors such as he'll die, he's a spy for dumbledore, etc.
Now that everyone knows about voldemort, will percy come back to his family? I personally think he will. He was in gryffindor, so should'nt he have the traits of a gryffindor? like loyalty and a true heart (i think these were the trais, but i could be wrong).
I think he'll come back but he'll be attacked and may even die. or molly may die trying to save him. what are your thoghts on Percy?
I realize that this topic may hav ebeen discussed in the past but i'm still rlatively nes and i'm not aware of all topics that have been discussed. So, if i'm starting a old topic again, i apologize.

I hope he gets attacked by Voldemort himself

Sry, but I wasent a big fan of Percy from the start. I know he will try to find a way to think he was right in all the things that happened in the 5th book, i know Percy is one of thoes ppl who like to think they are never wrong. Then again, he might also loose respect for Fudge and join Dumbledore afterall.

You're absolutely right! I think Percy would never ever admit a mistake, he'd rather turn the story around so that it suits him. But I'm also sure he'll return to the "good side".

I'm not so sure at all! I alway have the feeling that JKR tries to present things like death and war in a rather realistic way. When Sirius died, there were no tragic last words, no goodbye etc, he was simply gone in a instant. The same can be said about war: deaths of innocent people, thoughtless followers, traitors to both sides, allies and enemies you'd never have imagined, loss of loved ones etc. I think having to stand up agaist a family members is another important element of war, and so I think Percy won't "come back" that soon. I think he'll either die himself or come back because of his loyality to the ministry results in a death of another Weasley. Or Penelope...whatever.

Percy strangely reminds me of Peter Pettigrew...the idea with being with people who are stronger then him.
i do hope his head inflates a bit in the next book.

Percy is too rule conforming to go to the dark side willinging. He'll probably do something to the advantage of the DE without knowing it! i can't see Percy going home with his tail between his legs just yet. He'll have to swallow his big ego first!

Couldn't agree more!
Still, I do think he will get his moment where he shows he can do good... doubt it will be in book 6 though.

I get the feeling that there's more to Percy's betrayal than meets the eye...

The fact that the subject of Imperio being used by death eaters last time Voldemort was in power and there was a true battle going on between good & evil makes me think perhaps it's a strong hint that it's happening again. I don't think that Percy is that disloyal as to side with his employer over his family (he's ambitious and a brown-noser, but surely not that much!!!!)

I really believe he is under the Imperius curse. He's far too close to the heart of the evil to not be. And I think there are a few others under Imperio as well.

It's possible that he is under the inperius curse, but remember that most ppl can sometimes resist it, and that Percy hasn't shown any signs of that. I think it would have been tricky to force him to have a massive row with his family, even using the imperius curse.

I dont think that percy was under the imperius curse! i think that he was just desperate to prove himself that he upset his family along the way!

sorry to dp ... but JK's world book day interview states that percy was acting of his own accord in OotP. So sadly percy is a pighead normally

Percy just has excesive respect (better call it adoration) for rules & regulations, so he only believes "official" sources, even if theuy are obviously wrong.

Maybe Percy will fail to realise the danger until it is too late
His stubborness will lead him into trouble.
