Mrs Figg

Hello!

Just some time after reading Book 5, I realised something. Mrs Figg is "MRS" 8) . She was/is married and Figg is his husband's name. So, she must have her own last name. Just wondering what name can it be .

Some time ago, it was said she was related to McGonagall (because of the cats), but cats are present in many other wizard houses. I just can't think of a wizard she can be related to.

Well,that is an interseting thing...

Now, I woudl guess taht Mrs Figg is of the generation of Snape and Harry's parents and Sirius and Lupin etc. Maybe not the exact same age, but that generation. So her partent would have to be aroudn McGonagall's generation. It can't be McG, otherwise... well, McG doesn't seem like the type of person who wouldn't see her daughter very often, and being as strick as she is, I cant' see her raising a child that would go to a meeting of the Wisegomort(sp) in her slippers!!!

But is she is a squib (well, she is a squib!) then both her parents must be wizards. If oneof them was a muggle, then she woudnt' be a squib. So I wonder who they were. If the Mrs refers to the fact that she was married, then her father's name woudlnt' be Figg. I can't see her husband (if she had one) as having been a wizard though. Remember the Wizegomort said that there had been no other witches/wizards living around Harry's area. So unless she moved after he died, I'd say he was a muggle.

Anyways, how was that for a bit of a lengthy analysis without actually coming up with anything!!!

I like the idea that she's related to someone, but i cant think who it might be. i mean i doubt it's the potters cause the dursleys wouldn't leave harry with anyone that might treat him in any way well! (as she said at the beginning of book 5)
Was it the wizengamot that said that there were no other witches/wizards in the area, cause the only occassion i can remember was when Vernon said it!
I think that her parents must have been pretty close with DD cause he wouldn't just trust any old person with keeping an eye on harry.

Maybe their parents were killed by Voldemort and, as she wants revenge, DD let her be in the order.

I thought that they did in Harry's trial, when DD said that someone else saw the dementors or something. I might be mistaken though...

Also, what if DD knew Mrs Figg from before somewhere (possibly through her parents, who woudl probably ahve gone to Hogwarts) and since he knew and trusted her, asked her to move to near where Harry lived when or jsut before he was born, to that she could keep tabs on him. It's kinda a realyl good plan, becuase then her parents woudnt' ahve lived there, so there would be no record of her through that, and since she's a squib, there would be no record for her herself, so basically, noone woudl know that she' there! (hrmm, was that really repetitive or what??? )
