Animagus, boggart and Patronus

Just thought that it might be fun to share thoughs on what forms animagus, boggart and patronuses might take on for the following characters. Some of them have already been established, others have not.

Just copy 'n paste the names and add your comments. Feel free to add any characters to the list that you feel are of interest/importance. Remember to tell us how you formed your opinion.

Here is my list:


Harry

Boggart: Dementor (POA)

Patronus: Stag (POA)

Animagus: Lion (symbolises bravery, strength and pride)


Ron

Boggart: A huge spider (POA)

Patronus: A dog (in memory of Sirrius, who was quite freindly towards Ron) Or perhaps an eagle (can kill the spider)

Animagus: An elephant (This animal is huge, and would counter the way Ron normally feels around Harry, which is tiny)


Hermione

Boggart: Voldermort (In POA her boggart took the form of McGonagal, however I feel that after the events of OOTP she may have realized that there are bigger things in life than getting good marks)

Patronus: Otter (OOTP)

Animagus: Cat (she is obviously a cat lover. Also, In COS she was partially transfigured into a cat. I think that this would be a cool past reference. And finally, dogs have owners, cats have staff. Hermione's opinions are self-rightious and cocky, much like a cat.)


Draco Malfoy

Boggart: Sirrius Black. (Symbolises the cunning and bravery that Draco strives for, yet Sirrius is on the other side and far more powerful. Also he has the reputation of a murderer.)

Patronus: Snake (Draco used his wand to summon a snake in COS, and the Snake is the Slytherin mascot.)

Animagi: Ferret (Moody/Crouch turned him into one in GOF)


Dumbledore

Boggart: A corpse of Harry. (Once Harry is dead, Voldermort has won)

Patronus: Pheonix (He likes pheonixes, and they are not afraid of death, just like Dumbledore)

Animagi: Owl (Wisdom and sight)



Voldermort

Boggart: Grim Reaper (afraid of death)

Patronus: Dragon (reptilian and snakelike, also powerful and uncontrolled)

Animagi: Serpant (A serpant tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. Voldermort tempted Harry in PS/SS. Also has a pet serpent)


Lupin

Boggart: A full moon (POA)

Patronus: A dog (another tribute to Sirrius, and also a tame versoin of his wolf nature) Or perhaps a wolf (if Lupin wants to embrace his dark side, although I doubt it.)

Animagus: wolf (for obvious reasons)


Snape

Boggart: James Potter, or ghost of James Potter. (tormented him in school and Snape still owes James his life. Snape is horrible to Harry, so an image of James would freak him out)

Patronus: A cloud of bats (if he is a vampire) or perhaps a mandrake (embracing his scary side, also a nod to his skills with potions.)

Animagus: A donkey (stubborn, and also gives Harry yet another thing to ridicule snape about)


James Potter

Boggart: A nerdy version of himself, standing proudly for all to see. Or perhaps a corpse of Lilly.

Patronus: A bull (arrogant, strong, brave, and also quite close to a stag)

Animagi: Stag (POA)


Wormtail

Boggart: An aura, Sirrius, a dementor, a jelous Death Eater, angry Voldermort or a giant cat. (This guy is scared of just about anything, isn't he?.)

Patronus: A snail or turtle (Small, Can hide in its shell, just like Petigrew would like to.)

Animagus: Rat (POA)



Cho Chang

Boggart: Herself without makeup

Patronus: Swan (OOTP)

Animagus: Butterfly (Pretty to look at, but otherwise quite useless)

Interesting thread, Nightcrawler! I won`t write down the obvious, like Harry`s boggart being a dementor cause we all know that.

Harry

Animagus: either a stag, same as his Patronus or a bird - maybe a raven, because it symbolises bad luck and he certainly seems to get an awful lot of that, also it would be really useful and inconspicuous.

Ron

Patronus: spider - hehe, no j/k, maybe a lion, dunno why though, it`s just an idea
Animagus: fox - well obviously!


Hermione

Boggart: dead or injured Ron
Animagus: I also think cat or owl


Neville

Patronus: Mimbulus Mimbletonia, teehee who said it has to be an animal?
Animagus:

Boggart: being left behind, I suppose, lol
Patronus: hmmmmmm......running out of ideas here
Animagus: weasel

Luna

Boggart:
Patronus: crumplehorned snorkack
Animagus: Dodo

Harry - i agree with wigpidgeon, i think Stag. (like his dad)

Ron - dog (true friend)

Hermoine - agree with Nightcrawler - cat (she reminds me of Pr. Mcgonigal)

Draco - mouse (he likes to eavesdrop on people)

Snape - crow (i imagine him as a black bird - and crow is all I can think of in terms of black birds. I see Snape as a person who wants to get out of the mess he is in right now and fly)

Dumbledore - phoenix ^-^ (is it possible? lol)

I go with the idea of a lion- though I don't think he will become an animagus

Hermione
I also think that either she lied about her boggart being McGonnagal or that it has changed in the meantime. I guess it's a dead Ron (something she'd definitely lie about ) or Harry

Draco
Boggart: his father (maybe being disappointed of him)
Patronus: dragon (strong, powerful, brave- everything Draco wants to be. And, of course, because of the name)
Animagus: some nasty insect (small, ability to fly away when it becomes dangerous etc)

Snape
Boggart: Himself, or rather the worst in him that made him join Voldemort, get lost in the dark arts etc coming out again (Like DD's fear, teaching DADA could bring out the worst in Snape)
Patronus: hmm...Dumbledore? Just kidding.
Animagus: I'd also say a raven or a crow though that might be too obvious

For Draco's boggart, I would say people close to him laughing or teasing. that would completely demoralize him, I'm thinking.

Patronus: Goblin (Very race-orientated, yet cunning enough.)

Animagi: Hawk (Sharp-eyed and quick-to-anger.)
