i'm from the United States, but, i've read both the american and the russian versions. they are pretty funny to compare i was laughing pretty ahrd after i read the russian version. i remember i really enjoyed that "harry Potter" became "Gary Potter". (i had already read the enlgish books about 5 times before i read them in russian)
