The teams which aren't debating (Slytherin and Hufflepuff) in this particular debate have now placed their initial votes and the results are:

Hufflepuff
In favour of the no-smoking law: 0% (0 votes)
Against the no-smoking law: 100% (1 vote)

(Yikes, I should have realised this before but there should only have been an against and for option in Hufflepuff's vote options...the majority of Hufflepuffs voted for a third option, to wait and "decide after the debate", which defeats the reason for having a pre-debate and a separate post-debate poll (the reason being to measure the swing of votes, in order to calculate the score based on how the debate has swung people's opinion)....ah well, this is a trial anyway....sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier).

Slytherin
In favour of the no-smoking law: 71% (5 votes)
Against the no-smoking law: 28% (2 votes)

1% of votes were eaten by li'l monster as a snack! (or maybe it's a mathematical "rounding" thing) :)

If the debating teams can post here to confirm they're ready, then we can start the trial debate (or set a day to start it)!

It probably will end up being more loose. It's just that this is the first one and we were not really very organised yet and they are called Organised Debates. he he

Anyway I have PM'd the members of the Gryffindor team. Fluffy Bear is not with us right now so if no other Gryffindor wants to take her place then I will fill in.
As soon as I have heard back from Gower, Gwared and Choki Gryffindor will be ready.

Are the debates gonna start up again or is this topic going to be left alone until everyone goes away?
