What if Hermione had never...

What would have happened if The Sorting Hat had insisted on sorting Harry into Slytherin? Or what if Harry had become friends with Draco Malfoy instead of Ron during their first journey on the Hogwarts Express? Wander into alternative Harry Potter universes here.

What if Hermione had never...

...signed up for so many classes in her second year that she needed a time-turner in her third year?

A lot of book 3's crucial events hinged on that time-turner and knowing how to use it...what would it have affected? Also, what classes might Hermione have chosen to take and declined not to take (definitely Divination! )?

Well, this is intresting. I first think that she would only sign up for Arithmancy (since it was the hardest, and I know she would like to take the challange) and care of magical creatures cuz of Harrry, Ron and Hagrid. The other ones I dont think were nessesary. Then again, if she didnt take so many classes, Ron + Harry and Hermoine wouldnt have their issue of trust. I could tell Ron who hated Hermione that year didnt trust her cuz of the time turner. Lastly, how would they save Sirus???? That stups me!

He may not have understood what was going on with her but I doubt that Ron hated Hermy.

it owuld have changed the plots of the fourth and fifth books dramatically. While Sirius may have played small roles in both the books, moreso the fourth than the fifth, he was without-a-doubt intracal to the plot. Without him, things would have been drastically different, but right now i'm too tired to think of exactly how. How bout we start a lost of all the things that would've been different w/out Sirius in books 4 and 5. then we'll try to "re-write" the stories w/out him. what do you say?

Sirius didnt play a big role in book 4, other than to convince the dursleys to let harry go to QWC. Book 5 though, no Number 12 Grimmuald Place for a start

Bah to you all for doubting that Dumbledore couldn't have saved Sirius anyway.

Buckbeak, however, would most likely not have been saved.

Oh, and Hermione would have done even better on her Charms exam (the cheering charms) and she would be even more smug about her grades.
