What if Harry's wand did not have a Phoenix feather in it?

Yep, that would mean a four-book series. Harry would jump out from behind the gravestone and send out his puny spell, and LD would say avada kedavra, and that would be the untimely death of the youg wizard that we all know as Harry Potter.

yeah, the series just wouldn't have any real core anymore. you know it's weird how a little thing like that can be such a big thing in the series as a whole. anyway, w/out the phoenix feather, harry would also lose the connection he has to fawkes, which really hasn't played to much of a role yet but i believe will in the future.

Harry's connection with Fawkes has played some role. I mean Fawkes did save his life in CoS. And if Harry died then, it wouldn't have been much a series now would it?

now maby that's it !!! I have always believed that fawkes was sort of sent to harry in some way, but actually I agree that the phoenix feather in his wand might be the link between harry and fawkes ... what about DD and Fawkes (could DD have a phoenix feather in the core of his wand too ?) anyway, that would make me believe that wands may have attributes (could a wand with a dragon's heartstring core give the possessor a link with dragons ? doe's ron's brother have one ?)

Maybe when DD dies, he will give Fawks to Harry, and he will be his loyal sidekick! I like the sound of it. HP and his Flying Pheniox who gave a fether so Olivander could put it in his wand, but there also another one in he-who-must-not-be-named's wand, so hes sort of good and sort of bad....ok nvm im getting carried away.

Yes, it is. DD says in the fourth book on page 697 (US) :
"Harry's wand and Voldemorts share wand cores. Each of them shares a feather from the tail of the same phoenix. This phoenix infact," he added, and pointed at the scarlet-and-gold bird, perching peacfully on Harry's knee.
"My wand's feather came from Fawkes?" Harry said, amazed.
"Yes," said Dumbledore. "Mr. Olivander wrote to tell me that you had bought the second wand, the moment you left his shop four years ago."

Yea, thats y Voldie and Harry cant duel without interfearence, cuz they share the same wand properties, both comming from Fawks. Thats why in the 4th book, there was that whole scene of the ppl comming out, and Avarda kadavra bouncing off...

I didnt think that anyone besides those two had fawke's tail feathers in their wands? I thought DD said Fawkes only gave out two. But I may be wrong, you know, just making it up in my head  Do we even know anything about DD's wand?

No, but I really hope we will, I somehow think that ones wand reflects ones personality (VD - Phoenix feather : die and be reborn ...)

Hmmm.... I never really thought of that, the whole death rebirth thing. Then what does that mean for Harry? Will he die and be reborn as well? Maybe at the end of the 7th book he will die (which is what I expect) But he will also live in some way. I dont know. Look what you've made me do Ju-DedoH! Now I'm thinking!
