I'm wondering about DD's idea of Nagini...it's a bit obvious, and (assuming she's an ordinary snake) she can die. So what about Fawkes? Phoenixes are immortal, nobody would expect it, and Tom has a feather from Fawkes in his wand. And then there's the theory that Fawkes might have belonged to Godric Gryffindor once. But even if that's not true, an item from the powerful Dumbledore, who's somewhite like the Uber-Gryffindor and Voldemort's arch-nemesis would be an ideal substitute. It seems dear Tom is a bit obsessed with his old enemy, so I think he'd consider getting an item from him.

Dumbledore said that Voldemort making his snake a horcrux gave him an unusual amount of control over it. Since Fawkes saved Dumbledore in his duel with Voldemort, I don't think LV used Fawkes.

What DD said about controlling Nagini was merely speculation, he himself said so. I don't think all of DD's guesses can be right, that would be way too easy.

and the idea of making a living thing one of the horcurxes seems a bit risky...
maybe its something inside nagini though like eerrrr a tooth or something or a big shiny jewel inside its stomach that way nagini is just the guard o the horcrux.

What if Harry is one of the horcruxes?! That would be possible, considering the connection between them?

No. Didn't he say that you have to kill someone in order to have one?

Well, if you're going to make a horcrux out of something that's living, I guess you can't do better than a bird that can swallow a killing curse with no trouble.
