Flying Hagrid

Postby harrylover » Saturday 26 June 2004 9:29:57pm

I just came to think about that. When hagrid gets harry away from the little island in SS they take the boat and hagrid says he flew to come there. Flew?? How did he do that?? With a broom? I don´t think so, he´s too big for that. Apparated? He isn´t able to do such high magic...maybe he used a thestral??

What do you think?? :D

I had always pictured him rather ?levitating? just above the water or some such thing but the Thestral makes more sense

Isn't he a bit big for a Thestral too?

*shrug* we don't really know how large the thestrals are, do we, except that they're large enough for two teenagers to ride on, and they're apparently hard for those teenagers to climb up on (the had to help each other).

Then again, I would think Hagrid would be a little large for a moterbike, but we know he rode one of them (P/SS when he brought baby Harry to Dumbledore at the Dursley's).

A Thestral seems the most likely solution, a Hippogrif would have been noticed. I guess a Thestral would be just strong enough to bear hagrid :)

But he wouldn´t he have been seen...such a huge man flying around. I mean muggles can´t see the thestrals but him...he couldn´t have been invisible, could he??

I agree with alice! Hagrid might even have been able to use the charm himself! Afterall Hagrid has been teaching himself!

Hagrid flew over on an enchanted motercycle (I think).

Remember the Weasley's flying car? Well, Sirius had a flying motercycle that he lent to Hagrid right before he was arrested.
