Petunia didn't come to my mind at all  But maybe shs didn't change, she just got over a long-time-restrained trauma :???:

But I vote for Ginny in any case! Girl power! :evil grin:

Wait a minute - Peeves has changed a lot - he actually obeyed a student (Fred *sigh*)!

I completely agree with you Meg, I always thought that Percy was a bit of a git, but I never would have believed that he would turn his back on his family like that. I thought that he admired Dumbledore and knew Harry well enough to know he wasn't lying. I'm expecting a huge apology from Percy in the next book and everyone else constantly reminding him of what a twat he's been for the last year every time he steps out of line.

Ditto, Percy was never my favorite character, but I hate a turncoat more than anything else

As for the people who turned on James... are you going to tell me that a very one sided memory is going to change your opinion of him? Knowing Snape, he's earned every but if humiliation he recieved... and every bit of frustration he gets. I absolutely loved that scene in the third book where the order of merlin was denied him and he loses it in front of Fudge, very satisfying

I've never liked James so my opinion of him hasn't changed much after that scene. Before that I thought him too perfect for my liking and after the scene... well, he wasn't so perfect anymore, yet it didn't cause me to like him any better.

I don't think that anyone, no matter how evil they are, deserves to be publicly humiliated. Sure Snape wasn't an angel, but I just hate seeing someone being humiliated like that.

I was shocked by this scene; but hearing everythign the other characters said somehow actually worked to keep my opinion of James intact

I had the slight feeling something like that would come, the picture of James we were supposed to have before OotP was simply too perfect. It never worked for me, though. The oh-so-perfect Potters always annoyed me, and his treatment of Snape really didn't redeem James in my eyes. But strangely, I still don't like Lily, either...

Why not? I like her, though in the previous books I thought her a bit annoying. Too perfect, but hopefully she won't be always described like that.

That's the reason, I read about her and want to scream 'come on, doesn't she have any flaws?' But you're right, I'm sure that'll change when we get to know her better.

james is definitely not perfect. but i am really curious about lily. she is important, that i kno. i just want to kno how.

thhe books are gettin more serious. at first, harry looked at the world in a very black and white way. now, he is looking at it in a different way, so maybe we will learn something about lily that puts a shadow on her image. we kno JKR doesnt make 2 D characters, so we can be confident in that.

i was most surprised by neville. he had the biggest change, because i thought he was just the class fool who everyone laughed at. now, he is serious.

Ginny and Neville have probably changed the most in my eyes. They have both grown up into strong, relatively mature young adults. Neville has proved himself so much, and I think when he gets his new wand (as his father's one is now broken (OoTp)) it will signify a massive change in his personality. Can't wait for him to play Quidditch!!! :D [/quote]

I don't think he's playing quidditch. It goes against his nature. He may be maturing, but he is still a very gentle person and still very forgetful. I want to see him use plants to spells

I would agree with you form what we've seen so far of him. We'll see maybe. What do all of you think? Neville-Quidditch? No?
