pure-blood families

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Good question - I think they do think of them as equals.....I mean....otherwise there wouldn't be that many of purebloods on "their" side..... I dont know..

Well, Molly Weasly has a Muggle cousin, but she also belongs to the Black family (the same as Draco`s mum).

Wizard Families are probably considered pure when there are more pure bloods in the family than there are muggle-borns and half-bloods (at least it sounds reasonable).

You may be right. However if you have a family where ur mother would be a half-blood, and your father is a muggle, would u still consider urself coming from a pure blood family?

Dont really think so.... I mean, if your dad was pure blood but your mum a muggle, you wouldnt be from a pure blood family...

Because I wonder if the english purebloods like the Malfoys see purebloods from other countries as equals. Maybe they don't consider them purebloods, because they aren't english?

Wow - how accurate  Muggle aristocracy goes pretty much hand in hand with nationalism ... why would wizards be different?

Mint, I disagree that they treat them as equals - do we know for any mixed-nationality marriage at all :???: Nope, till now everything is very English

But still - this topic is about defining a pure blood family! I if you want the most selective definition, ask Mrs. Black!!!  Since the flights from Ljubljana to London are so cheap, I often go there and chat with her about ''the most important question of purity'' She was overjoyed to answer: OUR NOBLE ANCIENT FAMILY HAS BEEN BESMIRCHED BY THE SHAME OF MY FLESH, TRAITOR OF MY BLOOD AND I'LL WASH OUR HOUSE'S NAME WITH HIS BLOOD, HIM WHO'S NO LONGER MY SON ...!!!

I always thought that pure-bloods are those who have both parents pure-blood wizards, these parents have parents pure-bloods and so on and on. And when someone marries a Muggle born or half-blood, he/she is excluded from the family (like Andromeda on Black Family Tree) and their child is no longer considered pure-blood.

Anyway, about inbreeding. My sister says that children of such unions are either very smart or very stupid, but rarely "normal" (that is something in between).

don't forget that their is always disownment. The family remains "pureblood" because any relations that are muggle or half are not recognized as part of the family!!

That's what I meant by "excluded from the family", I just didn't know the right word. There were some people on Black Family Tree which were disowned, so it's probably it's done in other pure-blood families too.
