It's been a while since I read the fifth book, would anyone care to refresh my memory on this part?

That did sound right so I looked it up. It actually says defied not denied.
Wormtail as Judas... an interesting comparison. Do we hope he comes to the same end? (Is that a clue as to how?)

I wanna know more about the potters and some explination of why she killed sirus off. it would be nice to know more about why peter betrayed them and it would be good if harry was told how to kill Voldemort

I think it'd be a little disappointing to find out how Harry can kill Voldemort in Bk 6. I assume by the she you mentioned in killing Sirius, you meant Bellatrix. And... she killed him because they were on opposite sides of the war and they hate each. Sirius would've done exactly the same thing. As for why Sirius had to die for the plot, I bet we'll find out.

Because of the prophecy. He needed to get rid of the threat before it could hurt him, and to do that he had to get through James and Lily.

i agree, i don't think james and lily were the real targets. Voldemort obviously didn't like them because they had defied him thrice, but they weren't the object, harry was. He was the on the prophecy was about and he was trying to eliminate the threat. James and Lily were just in the way, but i don't think he minded killing them in the process.

But on the topic, i would like to know what James and Lily did for Dumbledore, and how they defied Voldemort

yea, u know, if harry was a threat to the DL and he knew that he might give some power to his victum then why didnt he go after Neville 1st?

but his spy didn't hear the last part of the prophecy, they were chucked out. So he didn't know that by attacking harry, he would give him power "he knows not". he didn't realise that this was his subconscious choice of his future adversary, as and DD said, he chose harry, who is so simliar to VD, half-blood etc.

There are several things I'd like to find out in book 6. As to whether or not I'll get to find them out (or to my satisfaction, which is probably more accurate!) or have to wait until book 7 is anyone's guess. Here's what I'd like to know:

* Where the heck was Peter Pettigrew was throughout book 5...what was he doing? Is he even still alive?

* And speaking of Pettigrew, how will he eventually "repay" Harry?

* Who is the Half-Blood Prince anyway?! (this I KNOW I'll find out) Is it a totally new character or one we've already seen? What powers does this person have, but most of all, what is his relationship to Harry?

* How many people and who is going to die? In a way, I don't want to know, because then, when you go back and re-read the other books later, you know what will happen to the characters...let me put it this way, it made book 3 pretty sad after I had read book 5.

* To end the endless scuffles around here , who will date whom?

* What more will Harry find out about his parents and what is the significance of the graveyard at Hogwarts that Alfonso Cuaron said JKR referred to?

* How will Hermione, Ron, and Neville react when they find out about the prophecy?

* What takes Harry away from the Dursleys so soon at the beginning of the book? Is it indeed the wedding of Bill and Fleur like some have speculated at BaO?

* What kind of Harry will we be reading about in book 6? How will he deal with Sirius's murder and the prophecy?

* What will the "wizarding world at war" entail?

ok, i really just want to know about harry. how he has been affected, and how the prophecy will continue to affect him. id also like to know about some backstory too. i want to understand LV, and JKR hinted that we would know more about his background, which will b very interesting...

I wonder what there would be to know though. I mean, we know sot of the basics. Maybe how he slowly turned to evil when he was younger, or whether or not he was sort of... Born evil.
