Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

I don't have those books, but I looked at my friend's once. I loved the comments that raon & harry made in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them.

I had the Fantastic Beasts book just sitting around for ages and when I finished up the series that had been published so far I decided to read it. It's actually a pretty informative book that relates to many things in the actually HP series. I posted this already once before but just thought I'd use it as an example here.
Demiguise is a creature that can make itself invisible and its hair is used for making invisiblity cloaks. Skilled wizards in the art of capturing them can do so, which means that some wizards can see you despite your invisiblity cloak. This explains why Dumbledore can see Ron and Harry in Hagrids cabin while there concealed by the cloak in COS.
I thought it was pretty neat.

The way JK can make everything fit together so perfectly is really clever. Like the invisability cloak thing the broken machine just said. JK must've gone into so much depth when she was writing the books.

She did say that she first began writing the story down at a local coffeee shop on a napkin and she also said she spent five years writing out the timeline of events and the rules of the HP world before she began writing the books. Pure genius.
