A New Thought

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

If thats so I think they would have been more prepared for Voldy!!!

They were as prepared as they could get, they were just betrayed by someone they trusted. They knew he was coming for them... that's why they went into hiding. It's just that when Voldemort wants someone dead, it's a little hard to stop him. They had that way to stop him in the Fidelius Charm, they had the way to stop him getting to Harry. But he got a man on the inside...

Well yes, I guess thats true. What they should have been prepared for was Pettigrew's betrayal

Not nesecarily. Sirius suggested him and they knew that they could trust him so they would trust Peter and they probably would have anyway because they were old friends from school.

I think Run Away was being funny about that whole Petigrew thing.
But anyway, I really don't think that Lily and James could have been unspeakalbes, I imagened a more simpler life for them than that.

I imagined them working for a remote office or bussiness.

Im pretty sure they were just the average wizarding family, thats what makes the fact that Harry is so special more ironic. I mean if some rich snob like Draco was the 'chosen one' then it just wouldn't be the same, Harry is so awesome because he is such an average boy but has this whole greatness thrust upon him.

Maybe they didn't work, because they spent much of their time working for the order, would have been tricky to keep a job at same time. Anyway, do we know what the three times they crossed LV were?

Yup they were pretty well off, they had to get that money from somewhere. But I don't think they had important or special jobs. The Weasley's might be pretty well off too if they didn't have so many children, and they are a normal family.

i think what makes the story and harrys charachter special, is not to whom, and to which house he was or wasnt born, but the way he grew up.
his charachter is seemingly simple and common (in the good way i mean), not vecause of his berth situation but the way and place he was brought up in. so it wouldnt matter if his parents were rich and famous, which we are told they are, at least by hagrid in the first book, if not again by more ppl.

sorry to go off track a bit, but whats this about them crossing vold three times? where does it say that? in the propehcy? can someone explain about it here? or send me a pm?

If you say that they were a normal wizrd family, what exactly does a normal wizard family do? I doubt that they worked for the Ministry. Would have been to coincidental.

Well as in the muggle world, there would be businesses, so that's work there. Obviously there's the Ministry. Where else do people work? Hmm, at the end of the day it always seems to come down to business and it'll be that way in the wizarding world too - those families need their galleons too.

What about St. Mungo's? Or would that be to much like the Ministry?

I don't think that they had ordinary jobs. They were smart, had a good marks in school so they probably had well paid jobs. They left a lot of money to Harry.
For sorcerer83: It's in HBP, they escaped from Voldemort three times, as well as Nevil's parents did.
