Slughorn's memory

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Maybe, maybe not, Sirius was not in favour with the Dark Lord and Regulas may turn out to be a small hero as well..

It has been talked about on here - I think DD wanted Slughorn at Hogwarts for a couple of reasons

1) so that he could watch his behaviour
2) to get a memory from him - he always suspected didn't he
3) so that Harry could meet him and actually get some decent potions lessons in - I think this play an important part later
4) to give Slughorn protection for a bit while all the above happened

Do we think that Slughorn would really stick around at Hogwarts even if it does stay open next year? He'll be a coward on the run I reckon as he only felt safe in Hogwarts knowing that DE's couldn't get in, well that's not the case anymore and that DD was around as a protector, well that's not the case any more either...

*looks highly ruffled at being called Lucia* Luca is from Raluca, it's not a female form of *shudder* Lucius.

*smiles at Snowy and feeds him an owl treat*

I disagree about Slughorn. I think he'll stick around at Hogwarts because even without Dumbledore and the one remote event of DE getting into the castle, Hogwarts is still the safest place to be if for no other reason than for it's sheer numbers (and the ancient protections on the castle are nothing to sneeze at). I also think he'll feel, honor bound?, to stay there because he really is needed as a teacher and one of the very few decent Slytherins. I'm sure I have some other reasons too, but I didn't get very much sleep last night...

*munch, munch - Mrs Luca Black forgiven for having a go in another feed*

I'm not sure Hogwarts is going to be open as a school next year yet. Can't decide on that. if it's not a school though, it will still have to be protected somehow by way of manpower, I can't believe they would leave the one thing LV regarded as home as completely unguarded. Obviously it has enchantments etc on it and probably still is very well protected but Draco managed to breach security and there are all of those tunnels as well which Wormtail will know about as a Marauder..

hogwarts has to stay open it will be too sad if it closes!!!

also i think harry and friends will end up going back for help, maybe from the pensieve or portrait DD. then again for them to do that hogwarts doesn't neccessarily have to stay open...

I agree it would be sad but I definitely agree harry, ron and hermione will have to go there at some point to see DD's portrait etc. But for the other kids, if you had DE's in the castle you sent your kids to, would you actually keep sending them there? I'm not sure I would.

If it did close though at the beginning, it might be re-opened at the end of the book with HP as the new head of DADA... (Snow says almost joking but it could put an end to the curse on the job possibly?)

Must admit I'd like to see Lupin back there but he'd have to really prove himself as "safe" to those people who had complained about him and forced him to resign. I know you might say Snape was the one that dobbed on this but I think DD got lots of parents complaining as well.
