A New Thought

it never says what Harry's parents did for a living. what if they were unspeakables? if they were, they might've dealt with the very prophecy concerning their son! it makes so many more possiblities!

Interesting... I've always wondered what they did for a living. I hope we find out in the 7th book.

I think it's pretty likely that we will. It's one of the things I'm looking foward to actually.

I think it'd be cool for Harry's parents to be Aurors.

I think that they were leaders of something like the French Resistance in WWII.

If thats so I think they would have been more prepared for Voldy!!!

I always felt like from what little it says about it in the book that they lived a relatively quiet, normal life (well, as wizards go). Which of course, in Harry's mind would be his perfect life, which makes it all the more believable. And I doubt they would be living all that dangerously with a baby to look after.
I think the only reason they were targeted by Voldemort is because he heard knew about the prophecy and was out to get Harry. Not because they were Aurors or anything like that.

I think that the prophecy was bound to happen even if Lord Voldemort hadn't heard of it.

don't you remember what DD said? All HP sleaths should know.
But yes, I believe it was DD who told them about the prophecy.

don't you remember? in the 5th book, DD says that the prophecy was labeled after voldie killed harry's parents.

Dumbledore would have told them about the prophecy when he heard it from Trelawny.
Since it was labeled after harry's parents died, than obviously even if they were unspeakables they wouldnt have heard about the prophecy that way.

But they might not have trespassed Lord Voldemort three tims by then. Probably not.
And they probably would have heard it that way even if it wasn't labeled

I am not sure if she will say what they do for a living. I don't think that JKR thought about it. We don't know much about Harry's parents and it's not likely she will write about them in 7th book.
