Have you ever noticed...?

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Maybe it's just me but when Harry loses his wand, and then Umbridge is carried off my centaurs i don't know how Harry gets his wand back. He has it when he is in the Ministry of Magic. I think my brother told me Ron gave it to him, but i am not sure where there is an oppurtunity for this or how Ron finds it.

It is in Chapter 33, pag. 670:

"So" said Ron, pushing aside a low-hanging branch and holding out Harry's wand, "had any ideas ?"
"How did you get away ?" asked Harry in amazement, taking his wand from Ron.

Albus's is correct although I'm not sure about the page reference as my dad's got my copy of OotP and the UK version can differ from the US (that's not to say anything I don't even know wher Albus's from).

What I found odd about that scene was that they saw a bowtruckle tree just prior to that and (as these trees make wands) it would have in my mind had a scene where Harry snaps off a branch in order to use it as a makeshift wand.

Maybe it was cut to shorten the book..or maybe I'm just reading too much into the book.

Gwared, I am Italian, and it was a friend of mine who ordered for me my copy of OoTP on Amazone. So I don't know if it is the UK or the US version. Looking at the first pages where there are print indications, I think it is the British one, but I'm not sure.

I dont understand why they have a big pheonix on the cover. I like the Harry one better. Usually, you should have things that show up in the book on the cover, and that dosent happen. There are no gigantic phenoixes. Plus, its traditional to have harry on the cover...

Yea, they could of had the order of the pheonix group on the front or something like the american book. I just dont see why they sould have imaginary stuff on the front. I thought fawks was the big pheonix and would be a big part in this story, but he really wasent.

I thought that I heard that the American artist who drew the chapter pictures and cover and such read the book before she did the artwork, but the British artist did not. So if the British artist didn't read the book, then there is no was that they could have known about who was in the order or anything that went on in the book. They probably just thought "Hmm, Order of the Phoenix... Order of the Phoenix... Order of the PHOENIX! That's it! It's so simple! I'll draw a Phoenix!"

Oh about the bowtruckle tree, good job on catching that, I didn't even notice  :) But even if Harry broke off a teig, he couldn't use it could he? There's not a dragon heartstring or a phoenix feather in a twig, no magical core at all. Maybe there would be a little sap, , but nothing magical

hmmmm....i agree wih Accioniffler, I doubt the make shift wand would work with a magical core...unless the sap was magical...lol

If I had a wand i would want it to be made with magical sap...

haha  a wand with a magical sap core! You could just get your opponent sticky, you know, shoot a jet of magical sap at them! No one likes to be sticky, it's highly uncomfortable

Wonder if there's a wand that can speak.. The scene where umbridge was being attacked is funny. :P
