Plans?

I posted this here because I didn't know whether or not this would affect future books.

I was rereading OotP, and remember when Harry arrives at Grimmauld place?
When he entered the kitchen, he saw a flash of a plan of a building.

Was that a plan of the Department of Mysteries, or something else important in the last book?

i think it was the DoM... although it could have been hogwarts or somewhere else... i never thought about that just presumed it was the DoM...

I think we can fairly confidently say that it was the Department of Mysteries. There's nothing in HBP to suggest it's anywhere else, and that tells me that it won't play another role, so it's the obvious.

I think it's one of d places d orders' members keep goin 2 ... u noe, 4 duty ... They must noe the place very well ... thou i dun think it will affect future books... but den again, jk rowling has presented surprises b4 ...

Whatever it is, I think that it will have already had it's effect - and, as you said, won't play a future role in the stories.

The vision, I mean.

Obviously if it's the DoM that will play a future role.

I don't think there are plans of the DoM. I reckon it's a map of the ministry as a whole, and they're looking at the corridor immediately outside the DoM.
