I hate my judgement

Postby Un'Anima Persa » Friday 27 May 2005 12:48:03am

Ok, so tomorrow, i have an annual relay. I have been with the same two people for three years, and we have lost EVERY time. So, this year, we worked and ran and coached each other and perfected our baton passing and did this from the begining of the year.

Today, I had a soccer game, four chess matches, and a fifty yard dash.

During soccer, i fel on my leg, and it twisted under me. At the time, it only hurt a bit, so i kept playing (by the time i fell, it was ten minutes into a 30 minute game.)

I finally finish the game, and we won. we were happy.

then, i go to play chess. i came to the room waiting for my opponent, and she comes in. (she is 23) she asks where the board is. of course, me being the younger one, i have to go look for it. i run through the school and out the door, and find it in use by another set of people. i take it anyway. i run back to the room, this time, my leg starting to hurt worse.

we finish the games, and my leg is REALLY hurting. I run the fifty yard dash anyway.

during relay practice, we couldnt afford not to practice, so i shut up and stuck it out. i collapsed in the middle of the first leg. luckily, none of the teachers saw it, and i was free to get up and drag myself over to a bench. there i sat for 20 minutes while my team works helplesly finding a temp for me. they had no luck.

A couple friends helped me get inside, where i was able to put on some ointment that helped for a while. now, after waking up from a nap and having ice on it, it feels no better, and i really dont wanna let my team down.

i wish i hadn't done what i did, but the past is irreversible, and i am stuck with this outcome. i hope its just a little pain. i hope i didnt sprain.

Ouch.

I'd really get that looked at if I were you.

And you shouldn't blame yourself either. You're doing the best you can, and injuries happen from time to time. You shouldn't feel the need to keep pushing yourself like that. Try to remember why sport was invented in the first place. Fun.

A million years ago a bunch of cavemen were sitting around one day and decided to see who could run the fastest, thow stones the furthest and survive wrestling with a tiger the longest. People shouldn't take it so seriously. It was just invented as fun activity to do to pass the time.

BTW, my favourite part of your post was this:

i run through the school and out the door, and find it in use by another set of people. i take it anyway.

LOL

I'm imagining a girl walking into a room where a couple of kids are playing chess. She yanks the board away (peices everywhere) and exits the room.

you made me feel better. :)
anyway, i am getting it looked at, and even with my bad leg (multiplied by two now, cuz i hurt the other one and i had another race today and i dropped out of it in the middle cuz i couldnt take it anymore) the whole three yards of lead i had held up, and we won.

I did have fun after it though. i didnt realize how fun pouring water over yourself and friends was... :) i have an appointment tomorrow i think. and i am resting up all weekend... and monday is a holiday... so i wont have to go to school or dance (can you imagine dancing with two bad legs?) lol

Just a little update, the doctor said to take pain meds to ease the pain, and it should be gone in a few days. So I got some motrin, and now my legs are all better... :)
