i don't mind at all.

infact it is something i haven't thought about at all. well hadn't. i kinda jumped into this thing feet first and didn't think abut anything

Helen is my best friend. i haven't ever felt more for her than that. she is the closest thing i have to a family and she is like my sister. ( also she's gay....)

the last thing i want is for baby to be confused when he/she grows up whilst it wont affect what kind of a person they are it may affect their chances and choices.

I was talking to a close friend of mine and we workde out that it'll be better if i am known as uncle baz rather than dad. this way it will make everything a lot simpler. i KNOW i'll be the childs only male figure because helen won't be with a man ever and her family dis-owned her.

being an uncle will still be amazing though. and i will love that kid as if it were my own.

Well, whatever your "title" will be, I am sure that you will be a really important part of the child's life.

well I think that is a good idea, I think that a childs understanding of such situations depends mostly on his/her education (from you and her) being an uncle will only help the child to understand that you and his/her mother aren't a couple, again I wish you, your friend and the child the best :)

Hi everyone
I am the mother to be. Barrys best friend.

its a real person and so are we so we are bound to make mistakes. we will do our best though, and we will be sure to keep you posted:)

What about Bob?
(I'm thinking Blackadder here, so if you've not seen it that will be totally random).

So, are you looking for names that you like the sound of, or names with meaning?
I've always liked Karis. (I think that is how you spell it) It means "a gift".

just looking here .
well anyway

helen has had her baby now, an dshe is s girl

she is called Anya

she is the most beautiful baby i've ever seen. Helen and i take it in turns to sleep and wake with her. she is really cool.

i tried to look at all the books you suggested and they were a great help but nothing really prepares you for holding a real person in your arms.

its truly amazing

i can't wait until i'm a dad now. babys, although smelly, loud and grumpy are the most rewarding thing in the world.
