oh yeah... and if you decide to meet someone, be sure you're in a well-lit area. a well-lit, very public area, with all the protections Barry mentioned.

And the most important thing he said: MAKE SURE several people know where you're at. This is not a time to insist on your privacy. If they know you were going to a particular movie theater to see such-and-such with so-and-so, then if you're gone for ten hours, they know to be worried enough to call the police.

If any of you have posted a picture or anything else you're uncomfortable with now that you think about it (I know I did  ) you can contact Paul or a moderator in the section you posted it in, and it can be edited right out.

I understand your worries Athena, and I also think that it's important to be careful. But it's not necessary to scare people and tell them it's dangerous to put a picture on the net. I don't think it is, unless it has your name, address and other personal informations next to it. If you're scared of all the possible things that could happen you will not enjoy your life very much. In fact people wouldn't cross a road anymore, or drive cars. So, in my opinion, if you keep to certain safety rules as mentioned before, you should be fine. :)

But i think it´s really dangerous because there could be someone out of my city and when he has my photo...that makes things easier for him...don´t worry i´m not really, really scared, athena just reminded me to don´t lose control...sometimes i forget that not all people are good... :-)

Won, I really wasn't trying to scare everybody and say that it's dangerous to post a picture on the web. I'm just saying that it's something that would be really easy for someone to use for bad reasons.

I do agree with you to a certain extent, but I'm at a point in my life when I've realized that there are a lot more important things in life than having my fun.

If you disagree with me and think I'm being paranoid or whatever, by all means, ignore me. I promise, if I ever come across any personal information of yours, I won't pm you and tell you how dangerous it is for it to be there. You have the right to post whatever information about yourself that you want to, and I trust that you're being smart when you do that. You have the right to that, and I have the right to let people know that the danger is out there, and they have the right to make an informed decision.

:-)

have to agree, it is dangerous to giveo out too many details online.

there is a line between having fun and putting yourself in danger, just be careful really.
