Veritaserum

What about Sirius? I'm sure if given the choice, he would have taken some veritaserum to prove his innosence?

Maybe Sirius didn't want people to know other things that needed to be kept secret. Maybe stuff about Harry that if Voldys followers knew would endanger Harry or something about DD.

The problem was that Sirius never had the chance to by proven innocent (Barty crouch Senior`s fault)

Quite correct. If I am right in thinking that the Order of the Phonix was secret during the first war, Sirius would be placing all the other members at geat risk by offering to take veritaserum.
Besides there were a zillion eye-witnesses to what he did and Crouch didn't give him a trial.
