Green Eyed Monster

I heard somewhere that JKR said that Harry's green eyes (that he inherited from Lily) will become increasing significant in the later books. I don't remember his eyes being mentioned before GoF (and in the film Harry's eyes are blue - JKR has input into these films so it seems that she had not decided on the eye colour at that stage).

What do you guys think this could be?

I've read other threads about LV being Lily's dad etc (note to self: check Tom Riddle's description in CoS for green eyes) and that Lily has a dark past or something like that.

His eye colour is mentioned in the first book already: "Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair, and bright green eyes." And as far as the film is concerned, Daniel was supposed to wear contact lenses, but they were too uncomfortable for him.

in all of her descriptions of harry in every book she mentions his green eyes, and nearly always someone mentions 'he has lilys eyes' It's just in GoF they are mentioned when moody puts the imperius curse on them and harry fights it off, it's seen in his eyes!!
