Why doesn't DD let Snape teach DADA? My only guess is that he doesn't entirely trust Snape, I mean he was was a death-eater. I don't think hewas teach them Dark Magic but I think he might scare the kids showing them what the dark arts can really do. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I think Snape's history with Dark Magic (didn't Lupin or Sirius say that Snape knew more dark hexes etc as a first year than all of the seventh years???) is keeping him away from the post...i mean why would you put a person with a suspended drivers permit in a post of Proper Driver's Education?????

Rowling has already replied to this question in an interview... ans we've already discussed this too in another thread. In any case, Rowling said that Dumbledore thought that letting Snape teach DADA might be too big a temptation for him. He trusts Snape, but also would not do anything that might immerse him in the Dark Arts once again...
