What can the bribe be, apart from the donation.

as in if there was the donation, which fudge really doesn't get... *the money goes to the hospital after all* and then another sum of money goes to Fudge... so that they money for the hospital will be used to keep the Longbottoms there...

*very confused* :???:

I meant bribe and donation. the donation is to be seen as a good guy and the bribe to keep the Longbottoms in St. Mungos.

But the donation or bribe (any of them) do not keep the Longbottoms at St Mungo's hospital

Okies, what if the bribe is to keep the Longbottoms in St Mungo's, with no cure, and the donation is another condition to the bribe... ie, Fudge says, you pay me $xx and donate anohter $xx to St Mungo's, and your on!! :D

Or mabe someting like there could be a cure, and they might even bereally close to finding it, but Lucious's bribe goes towards stoping funding to reasearching for the cure???

I mean, if there actually was a cure, people woudl knw about it, so be suspicious about why the Longbottoms werent' geting it, right? :-?

exactly.
even if there is a cure for them and they dont have to get it, so people might think it is another disease and another cure has to be found.

and also you have to see that there are many other persons who followed Voldemort and were not convicted. some of them are in high positions as you can see by Karkaroff or the one in the Ministry who was said to be a DE (I forgot his name).

i think malfoy is trying to get as many fingers in as many pies as he can
he really wants to know everything that is going on.

he donates to st Mungos (possibly to keep the longbottoms there)
he associates with several members of the minestry (not least mcnair and fudge)
he is (or was?) a governer of Hogwarts.

I agree that fudge wouldn't knowingly take bribes but if it has been disguised as something quite different?

Uh, what is the point of a bribe that he doesn't know about... I mean, how does that work???

If there was no condition given with the donationof themoney, it would just be a donation, no???
