lol, i dont know if this has been said before but im not checking that many pages...I actually think sirius is lucky to be dead when you think about it...at least he died, a quick clean death.....as appose to the one he would get as his name hadnt been cleared yet and if he had been caught they would have given him to the dementors, and he would be caught, he likes going outside far too much, lucius already knew he was about didnt he

i think the ministry's decision to give Hermione the Time Turner to "attend her lectures"is ridiculous. the TT is easily the most dangerous object in the magical world. How could they trust it in the hands of a little girl?

as for Sirius dying, i dont really think anyone could go back in time and save him. there was a fierce battle going in the room and if Harry went back in time , there is a very high chance that he would have been knocked off.

PS- i wonder how the centaurs kept Umbridge alive for that long

Well, they did, but it was because McGonagall really fought for her, telling the ministry that she could handle it, she's an exceptional student, yada yada yada...

While I don't think much of this theory, I think the people who do think that Harry could go back in time and save Sirius think that he wouldn't go back in the middle of the battle, but at the very beginning, and either find some way to stop his other self from going to the Department of Mysteries at all, or stop Sirius from following him there. I suppose it would have to be the former, because the latter would result in one dead Harry.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that JKR said in her latest interview that Sirius was indeed dead, BUT she did hint at the suggestion that the two way mirror harry was given by Sirius will be important in the future.(I know it broke, but hermione can fix that in a second).

PS. Athena, I guess that if McGonagall canfight to get hermione a time-turner-and win- then things seem to be looking good for Harry the Auror, as long as he has got her on his side.

Yes on both accounts... Sirius is deader than a doornail, and Harry can do anything as long as McGonagall is backing him up...

I think he achieved the OWLs necessary to do Auror training, even though I know a lot of people don't think he got that O in Potions... he did a lot better than he expected to, without Snape breathing down his neck...

But I think, regardless, that he'll be training to be an Auror during the next two books.
