just me maybe, but JKR seems to forshadow(FS) Aragog's death. In CHPT 2, for example. I mean, it is freakin' called 'Spinner's End'- Spinner is Aragog, the 's is possessive, and the End is his death.

Also, she FS Aragog's death when DD is talkign to HP in the shed. He doesn't want to shower him with spiders. THis means he doesn't want to burden harry w/ spiders. Aragog is a spider, and his death is relevant to the story.

just a lil' som-somthin

Hmm I think Lucius is about 10-12 years older than Snape, do we know how old Narcissa is? I agree something fishy is going on but don't really know what.

Well, in the 5th book, Lucius is 41. It says so in a Daily Prophet about Umbridge. That makes him about 6 years older than Snape. I think Narcissa is a year or two younger than he is, thus making her about a few years older or about the same age as Snape.

I have some issues with the ages of the Black sister's though. Bellatrix is supposedly the eldest but went to school and was close enough in age to associate with Snape (a comment of Sirius' in GoF). Then Andromeda is supposed to be the middle daughter, but she has a daughter that is 14 years younger than Lupin. Then we have Narcissa, who I believe is the youngest and have no qualms with her age. This order is reinforced by Dumbledore in HBP and in the order they appear on the tapestry.

I have a theory that puts Andromeda as being the eldest though, but I'm not sure if this is the place for it.

i always found that timeline strange too. does it flat out SAY that was the order of the sisters, or are we just going by the way it looked on the tapestry?
i sincerely doubt there is anything "romantic" between snape and narcissa, but i'd be willing to bet that he once persued her and she blew him off for the more powerful (and probably better looking) lucius. she could be playing off of that old (possibly lingering?) crush now. maybe she knows that he would still do anything for her? especially now with lucis otherwise engaged?
