Lizzy Bennet wrote:But why would Hagrid's MOTHER kill him? What motivation would she have? I know some giants do tend to be violent, but I'm trying to imagine a situation that would cause Hagrid's mother to do such a thing. Certainly, that would be very hard to write AND read. :crying:

i remember in one of the books i don't remember which one though, but i think someone said that hagrid's mother was follower of LV so if he does die b/c of his mother then it would probably be b/c of hagrids principles.right??

If' you are talking about Rita Skeeters article, which is about the only place I know that they talk in detail about Hagrids mother, then it doesn't say taht she was involved with Voldie, it just implies that it was possible. It says that there werew a handful of giants who joined his ranks, and we did speculate somewhere about why the ginats might kill Hagrid... cant' remember now though! And I would go look, but I really should be studying inthe first place instead of posting here... *exam tomorrow, 9am... hrmmm, that's in 21hrs... not good!!!*

i was watching TV this morning and i saw a snippet from an interview with J K Rowling

she was asked about the death and she said it was a horrible horrible death

the interviewer then asked her if the person who dies is a significant person and she said yep

hmm...a significant person dying a horrible horrible death....hagrid sounds plausible for that

Yeah, I suppose, but hen I never sat down and theorised what woudl happen in either 3 or 4 before I read them, like all the pondering that I have been doing before OOTP comes out... so I dont' really know that I might's have guessed some of the things to happen as a posibility..>? :-?
