Don't think so either...there's such a great potential in Neville...maybe he dies in the last book

Oh, how sad would that be??? The character of Neville is uch a clumsy little thinkg that you'd just feel that you had to look out for him.. it would be soooo sad if he died! But I do think that it's the kind of thing that might happen in the end??

Well certainly we will see a great change in Neville in the next two books, so maybe the idea of Neville of being protected won't last for the seventh book. He will play a very imprtant role in book seven, and is a great candidate to die. (Well that's what I believe)

About Neville maybe he won't die, it would be too much to the same family, no?; Maybe he has a chance to survive :D , I don't know why but I want Neville to be alive at the end of the series.

Ii think that you might be right about the snape thing, and also, just had another idea of sorts...

What if somehow Neville gets back whatever memory or whatever else he lots, and somehow this helps to put his parents back to right?

I mean, think about it, the 'good' side is definately lacking in people... especially with all those DE's a the meeting at the end of the 4th, and with those that might possibly leave Axkaban due to the dementors.. . Maybe the Longbottoms recover and help catch all the DE's, being auors after all! What do you guys think?

Hm...but how could it help them?

I've just had a thought...Neville's life certainly hasn't been easy. His parents don't recognize him, and throughout his whole life he's been treated like a complete fool. Just imagine he, in addition to all that, finds out that's because he's been victim of a forgetfulness curse.Ans suddenly, he somehow gets the whole amount of his power back...this will change his character a great deal. What if he doesn't know how to deal with that responsibility? What if he wants revenge? Not only for the Lestranges, but for all the unfairness he's had to endure. This includes Snape, of course, and to a certain extend even Hermione. *just thinking*

yeah, but how much of that personality will remain if he discovers such a thing? And, in addition to that, suddenly realizes how much power he really has? Just think...if you've had a life with so much pain (year after year visiting your parents...and never being recognized), and all this constantly unfair treatment without anything to do against it...being looked down to by everyone, even by those you consider your friends...wouldn't you wanna make somebody pay?

Yeah, but surely if he discovers he has great powers he isn't still able to use them, Imean he might be powerful but needs to finish school first, and during this time can achieve the responsability of the powers.

Well, Harry was always put down by everyone around him, treated really badly, thought he didnt' have the parent thing that Neville's got, and he didnt' go phsyco when he realised he was a wizard...

And I dont' think that the likes of Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Dean, and Seamus look down at Neville, judt the Slytherines... The other are genuinely his friend, be him a very powerful eizard, or a pitifully weak one?

I didn't say it was likely, only that it's possible.

I don't believe he'll become 'pure evil' or something like that...I just think that he could possibly do something...well, rash. Something he'll maybe regret later on
