I have been reading the series over again and am currently on GOF hoping it will all connect by the time OOTP comes out just perfectly. I came across something that was neither convincing yet very possibly a clue as to Dumbledore being related to Harry. Here it is:

Mr. Crouch's eyes rolled forward onto Harry.
"Who....you?" He whispered.
"I'm a student at the school", said Harry, looking around at Krum for some help, but Krum was hanging back, looking extremely nervous.
"Your'e not......his?" Whispered crouch, his mouth sagging.
"No", said Harry, without the faintest idea what Crouch was talking about.
"Dumbledore's?"

Dumbledore's what I ask? Why was Crouch so suprised to see Harry.
Crouch says "Your not his? Dumbledore's?"
It sounded to me as I ran over it that Crouch knew that somehow Harry and Dumbledore were connected. By blood or by association who knows. Tell me what you think.

I agree with sonkem it is a little farfetched(1 and 2),b/c godric gryffindor was the founder of gryffindor so it makes sense that its in hogwarts.but i can see how you can come up with three it seems very possible,but with the qoute that was released from the book i can kind of see how you got your theory

But Harry's only relatives are the Dursleys, if DD was related to him, then he would be his relative too.

And with that quote Broken Machine... I think that he was refereing to harry being DD's as in which side he was on, DD's or Voldie's...

But isn't it only Dumbledore that has told others that the Dursley's are Harry's only relatives? What if he was trying to keep their relation hidden for some reason or another?

That said, I still don't think they are related. Or want them to be related, for that matter. It'd be a bit too Vader/Luke-esque for me.

i agree with blaise i mean he could be hiding it but i don't think i want them to be related because i think it would ruin the plot a little bit

Well if they were related surely Hadrig would know it, or Sirius.

And laso DD should have appeared in the Erised mirror.

not neccessarily b/c it showed him his family just not the extended family, b/c all harry wanted to see was his parents

actually, it only showed the parents in the movie, but in the book, it was extended family... the room appeared to be full of them standing behind him! So, if DD, or Snape, or Voldie were related to him, they should have been there...
