Imagine after the war though... I can see him twiddling his thumbs and humming a tune while McGonnagal is stuck over a pile of paperwork, annoying the bejesus out of her with a smile on his face

Plus Gryphindor House is gonna need a new head. I'm thinking Lupin... he'd make a great teacher. Also, can you imagine having a smart werewolf to guard the common room; that'd be awesome!

i would like to see hagrid as the head of Gryffindor. i think he could actually do it... and he probably deserves it. he proved to be faithfull to the school (when he said that he would come and teach even for one student). but i wonder? was was he a Gryffindor when he studied? i can't actually remember.

I seem to remember reading somewhere, though I cannot remember where, that Hagrid was without a doubt a Gryffindor.

Until I read this post, I completely forgot about portraits of the dead being about to speak coherently with the living (Mrs. Black has scarred me for life).

I think that someone has to sit for a portrait to have one. Perhaps the old belief that cameras steal your soul has some sort of truth in the wizarding world (only paintbrushes, not cameras because I don't think the photographs really speak). Sirius never had a chance or probably the want to sit for a portrait (I think he'd see himself sitting for a portrait a bit too pompous and "Black" like for his taste).

I'm sure that somewhere in the world there is a family portrait featuring a 6 or 7 year old Sirius screaming his head off and being cast reproving looks by his horrible mother who at least here would want to remain composed. I'd love to see a family portrait from when he was 15. That would hilarious.
