umm.... i dont think that is the case. It was Snape who started the relationship between him and harry. also,I dont see him caring at all whether James and co thought he had reformed or not. so i dont think he would be frustrated by them not believing he has turned good.

i think what is going to happen is Snape saving Harry's life from Voldemort and dying in the process, which will make harry respect snape. no reasoning... just a hunch

P.S i would love to see him call him "Proffesor Snape" for a change

Maybe Snape could call him "Harry" instead of "Potter" for a change. That is the highest sign of respect between the two I can imagine.

This is a bit offtopic but me too, I'd love to know DD's worse memories. I'm pretty sure he's got some dark secrets! And it'd also be interesting to see DD's Boggart, and his Patronus.

Not off topic: Snape feels too much resentment to forgive Harry anything, so even if Harry tried he couldn't change their relationship to better. It can't get worse anyway. But if JKR said sth. will happen, it's probably another crash between them, maybe more intense :???: Maybe it'll have to do sth. with blaming Snape for Sirius' death (I think he's dead , JKR isn't joking about such themes).

Marcus Baker wrote:True, howevere we really dont know the primary reason why Snape is not on voldemorts side anymore, even though he was a Death Eater. I mean, consequences could be deadly if you betray Voldemort, so he has to have quite a good reason to leave him. Anyways, Id say if he did return, he would be instantly killed for not showing loyalty. I dont think he really can go back to Voldemorts side, even if he he shows strong animosity towards Harry.

I have a theory...

After James saved Snape's life when they were students at Hogwarts, Snape was grudgingly indebted to James. Snape heard that Voldemort was after the Potters, and he's the informant who told Dumbledore that the Potters were in danger. However, it didn't work (James and Lily still died), so in Harry's first year, he saved Harry's life, thus fulfilling his debt to James.

Bet it's a phoenix... assuming, of course, that phoenixes can be Patronuses.

Thing is, they're both incredibly stubborn people. Also, I really don't think it's something that has to be "resolved" by the end of the books, seeing as in real life, such things are not resolved in a nice, neat way. At most, a series of events would make Harry and Snape be able to be in the same room together (future fights, Snape does something to save Harry or vice versa, etc.) but there will always, in my opinion, be a lot of tension in the air.

Exactly, I've been thinking the same. There's just too much tension between them to be settled for ever and all. I see them being able to stay in the same room without killing each other, but that would be worse. Besides, I don't really like the idea of Snape getting friendly with Harry, I like him as that nasty git he is. A more "civil relationship" would be perfectly enough.

I know the feeling Deedra and this was MY topic! anyway I like the idea of snape saving Harry and then they respect each other. I wasn't asking for gumdrops and lollipops when I started this I only wanted a more civil relationship which I think will happen in the end. I don't think Snape will give Harry a hug when he gets on the Hogwarts express for the last time (assuming he does) maybe just a good bye?

You guys want to see DD worst memories and such... I would just like to see some more of the immense power he has.

Yeah, same here. In OoTP, Harry talks about how DD's face was scary when he was getting the DE's. But with the upcoming war, I bet we will see DD in all his power.

But Snape's already saved Harry's life... Fat lot of good it did.

After Snape saved Harry in P/SS from falling off his out-of-control broom, Harry certainly didn't respect him. He wasn't even appreciative.

True, but how many teenagers (besides me  ) are thankful after something like that? Just brush it off and go on...

He was only saving him because he was in debt to him.

So? He still saved him, and Harry was a little bit of a brat about it. Just because Snape had this debt to Harry's dad didn't mean that it wasn't noble that Snape saved him. Since Snape saved Harry once and it did nothing to help their relationship, I don't think a second saving would make them buddies, or really change anything at all, either.

Harry looked at Snape at the end of year feast and realised that Snape's feelings towards him hadn't changed one jot. Maybe until he realised this, he intended to say something. But I wouldn't bet on it
Anyway lets face it; there relationship is beyond repair

That's the challenge for JKR: She needs these huge stumbling blocks to push the story forward. Something really spectecular must happen to change their relationsship, including one of them (or both?) passing away. Since it is a children's story about good and evil after all, chances are that Snape won't make it. So there is more to this relation. The story grows...

Yes. And I hope that if Snape doesn't live to the end, Harry feels like absolute cr*p!
