I like that theory on Harry being the next Dark Lord. Me and a friend were dicussing the ending the other day. I thought that Rowling would kill Harry but she didn't think so. She said Ron would go . . . Hmmmm . . .

Maybe Voldemort's evil nature gets imprinted onto Harry and there will be two forces fighting inside Harry's body. Some point or another, when the darker side takes over, there will be the new dark lord. However, Harry will have the ability to overcome that but then again...it's either freaky or cheesy :eek:

I think Harry will do something that will result in them both (LV and HP) being killed so that there can be absolutely no follow-up to the books.

Death Eather #1: We found him alone in the woods. He was armed only with this. (Hands Voldermort Harry's wand. DE1 bows in respect and the two DE's exit scene)

Voldermort: (to Harry) I see that you have constructed your own wand. Impressive. Dumbledore has trained you well.

Harry: I know there is still good in. You were once Tom Riddle and you still can be.

Voldermort: That name no longer holds any meaning for me. *rasp*

Harry: That is not true. I can sense the conflict within you.

Voldermort: *ghasp* There is no conflict. You will join me or die.

Harry: If that is my fate, then I accept it.

Voldermort: That is most foolish.

Harry: You could not bring yourself to kill me in the graveyard, and I do not believe that you will kill me now. Come with me. It's not too late to become the man you once were.

Voldermort: It is too late.

[INSERT ACTION SCENE]

(Voldermort is dying, Harry rushes over to him)

Harry: Come with me, we can escape.

Voldermort: No, I am dying. Save yourself. But first, remove this mask. Let me look upon you with my own eyes.

Harry: That's a mask??

Voldermort: Well, of course! did you think that I was natrelly this ugly or something?

Harry: ...er... no of course not. (quickly removes Voldermort's mask)

Voldermort: tt-tell y-your freinds. You are the last of our kind.

Harry: I can still save you.

Voldermort: (smiles for the first time) You already have... (dies).

(The war is over!! Everyone is celebrating.)

(Harry sits alone. He senses a pressence nearby. He looks up and sees three ghosts. They are... his mentors! Sirius, Dumbledore and a third figure... Tom Riddle, redeemed and good, once again! Hermione rushes over to Harry. She cannot see what Harry is staring at.)

Hermione: Let's dance

(Harry stares at Hermione knowingly and smiles. He gives the three grinning spirits a final wave before joining in with the rest of the party)

My whole theory on "the end" is something like this.....Aurors and OoTP kill every DE, or the other DE's run and denounce LV. LV is now alone and has no followers, remember how feeble he was all those 11 years without any DE's at his side. Anyways, Dumbledore says in CoS, "I will only be gone when there are none here loyal to me." (er, something like that). It could be the same way with LV. Well, he may be easier for Harry to conquer. And as a side note...I think Voldemort is the manifest of evil and Harry the manifest of love. I think they will both die.

i was reminded of DD telling Voldemort in OotP "there are things worse than death, and your failure to realise that has been your greater weakness"

now what exactly is DD talking about? does he mean humiliation or something more? i think maybe this statement has later implications which will be a factor in Voldemort's end

A fate worse than death that I can see would be to have the dementors turn on him and suck out his soul.

I mean they are dementors, I don't really see them as loyal servents.
As soon as things go south for Voldemort they could always turn on him to get back in the good graces of the ministry.
