unless athena, that moment was one of the moments that JKR refered to that forshadow events or topics discussed in the 6th and 7th books that she said Cuaron must have intuited because she never told him to put them in the movie. She says that she got shivers or something when she saw some of her plans for future books up on screen. Maybe the Lily and Lupin bit was one of those parts. I don't know for sure though, because neither she nor Cuaron are telling which parts of the movie these are.
