why must there?

 I'm sorry, but when are people going to let Sirius rest in peace? He's dead. He died the way he would want to die. Let him go. Accept the life lessons Harry learned and get on with it!

Furthermore, if there's a portrait of Sirius hidden away somewhere, Harry would have to continually go to it. When whats-her-name painting goes to check on Arthur, and Dumbledore is explaining what's going on, he says that only some wizards/witches, who have achieved a lot are able to go from portrait to portrait. So, for this theory to work, we have to know
1. how moving, talking portraits are made
2. if there was a moving, talking portrait made of Sirius
3. where it is
4. harry has to be able to get to it often to benefit from it.

too many ifs. :-)

 grow a backbone... j/k

y'all, Sirius died a hero's death, be happy for him about that and get on with life... if J.K. Rowling were to bring him back, I think it would totally depreciate the lessons his death were supposed to teach Harry (and, coincidentally, us).

Let him go.

You're tottaly right, but still, she could kill anybody she wants to teach us

Nope, killing off a lesser character wouldn't teach us any lessons.

Dumbledore-I would live with that,

no way... if Dumbledore died, you'd be on here going "Dumbledore's the most powerful wizard around... he could come back to life!"

Ron-it would be hard but still...

yeah, I don't really like Ron too much...

Lupin,McGonagall anybody....

I'd cry then... I love Lupin and McGonagall

Sirius is the best character in the book,

 are we reading the same book? j/k... to each his or her own, I guess

And Hermione.I will stop reading HP if she kills her,she already killed Sirius, she mustn't touch Hermione(as she I mean J.K)

Well, here's good news for you: J.K. Rowling has stated in an interview that she will not be killing anyone in the trio off anytime soon

*pats your back* I know it's hard... just remember the good times you had... let him go...

I have to say that i was totally gutted when she killed off sirius! he was one of the best characters in the book. It would be great if they could make a painting of him. but i dont really understand how that all works with them talking and all that

I think that Sirius will not return or if he does it will be a once-only thing.

I hope he doesn't though. I didn't really like him in OotP - too surly for my liking. Reminded me of myself.

Hey, congrats on becoming a fully-qualified wizard, Aberforth!

Aside from just not liking Sirius in OotP, I think it would be a little too As-The-World-Turns-ish (soap opera) to have him come back to life in any form... You know, like on soap operas, they kill off a character, the fans object, and three months later: "AAAAA!!!!" the character didn't REALLY die, it was his unknown long-lost evil twin, and Billy Joe is living down the road with amnesia, thinking he's a duck farmer...

Thanks Athena. Just waiting on my job description now.

Must agree about that point. Nice analogy too. Reminds me of "The Days of Our Lives" in Friends when Joey comes back as Dr Drake Ramoray with someone elses brain.

Exactly! One thing I've always admired J.K. Rowling for is how well-planned her stories are, and that would just make me lose a LOT of respect for her.

I guess I would be okay with a dream appearance, but then it would remind me of Mufasa and Simba... so, nope, I'm one of the people who say, yes it's sad he died, but he died, he died doing what he wanted to be doing, take comfort in that and get over it...
