Just kidding, of course!!

My... thankfully, you were just kidding! McGonnagall and Voldie is just so weird... the fact that McGonagall can have a husband is just so strange!!!

I don't think Hermione has wizzard blood because of the message JK seems to be giving.

The whole Muggle descrimination is about how muggle borns arn't as good

Lusious Malfoy - "You would think that you would be ashamed that a mugle born beat you in every test"
that'd not the exact quote but its close.

Hermione shows that its not about abilities as such or heritage, its what choices you make (studying)

If JK make out l8r that hermionee is related closely to wizzards it might well be a bit of a let down, JK would be basically saying yes her ability is jus cos she has 'wizzard blood' which wouldn't be JK's style.

I think the families of teachers or relationships would be interesting and i think they will play a interesting part later (also what teachers do on holidays)

I don't think voldy is anyones dad, it's just too i dunno star wars (or whatever) i would be extreamly dissapointed if he was. It seems too far fetched and there havn't been any clues as such and it would just seem like oh i've got writers block..I know i'll make voldy, snapes uncle. Or worse Lillies father.

just how it seems to me

Or Dumbledore's true son! Which of course neither of them knows!

I think your point is the most likely, and personally, I'd be really disappointed if it were in any way different from that. Hermione being completely of muggle heritage, I mean.

I agree, Siana...the point seems to be that it isn't what your heritage is, it's what you do with yourself and your potential. That what you are born doesn't determine how successful/unsuccessful you will be. YOU determine that. All comes back to choices...

I also agree that would be too Star Wars for just about anyone to suddenly be related...it just seems cheesy. And JKR's writing hasn't been cheesy...and I hope it won't become that way! I really feel Hermione's parents really are muggles and that she truly is a half-blood and that it hasn't been nor never was a disadvantage for her...I wonder if other half-bloods (Seamus, Dean, etc.) won't have a larger role in the next two books illustrating this point as well...or simply being a target for Voldemort...

I don't think McGonangal and Hermione are related but there is definitely something wierd between them. In PoA McG arranges the time turner and from then on they seem to talk quite a lot. In 5 when HP is sent to McG and he repeats what Umbridge said in her inaugural speach she says "at least you listen to Miss Granger". How would she know that Granger said this to RW and HP without them having private little chat about it all.

I think we will find out more about their relationship, but I agree with the moral previously quoted about birth etc, that it would be wrong to make Granger related to a wizard.

Poor JK. How is she going to prove everybody wrong about every point in these forums? I'd stop now- just relese a two chapter book saying how it all ended.
