Wormtail the last marauder?

Postby Nobby » Wednesday 31 March 2004 11:36:31am

As two of the marauders have alreadly died (james and sirius), i feel that they will all be dead by the end of book 7! (lupin dead-sad i know) just what about the order in which they die. i feel that lupin will die next because i think their deaths will occur in relation to how competent they are as a wizard (james and sirius being better than lupin and lupin being better than wormtail)

Does anyone elese think that wormtail will be the last marauder?

I really don't like the idea of Lupin dieing but there is that silver hand thing with wormtail.
If wormtail kills Lupin I think it only fitting that the threesome kill Wormtail and yes he would be that last to go.

I also feel that Wormtail will(unfortunately) be the last marauder, Although I would certainly prefer that Lupin killed Wormtail and avenge James and Sirius´ deaths... :x :x

I personally don't think so, but I don't have any evidence against it, so we'll see.

 it's the only adult conversation I get during the day... my two-year-old is cute, but I can only hear "uh-oh! banana!" so many times before it gets old and I need to have something else to do with my brain than go get bananas.

plus, i get a mailbox full of emails and i just work through them... today there were an extra lot of them. :-)

Lol,I think that Wormtail dies in the end...And there are two ways:First,he'll finally do something good and finally feel guilty over all the deaths that he caused(sp?) and die protecting Harry&Co,or second,he'll make a mistake and his master LV will kill him,(or he LV will do something even worse,he'll order Dementors to kiss Wormtail)you know how are the bad masters with lot of power...

I would imagine Voldemort getting rid of Wormtail quite quickly unless he had a plan for him. Wormtail is a poor wizard and a bungler, and LV wouldn't allow this sort of incompetance in his inner circle. Sure, Wormtail helped restore him, but LV isn't really a grateful type.

My thoughts lead me to something between Wormtail and Lupin or Wormtail and Harry. Perhaps, LV is banking on Harry wanting to avenge James and Sirius (feeling that if Sirius had have been proven innocent he wouldn;t have followed the path to death that he did) and come after Wormtail.

I doubt Lupin would figure too highly in LV's plans as he would not be the main threat.

Everyone keeps on saying how bad of a wizard Wormtail is. i dont remember reading this. I read he was no in James and Sirius's league as far as talent goes and hopeless at dueling. James and sirius were the best so this doesnt mean wormtongue is weak. i could be wrong tho

Well... the way I see it is more of an intuition thing (aka. I dont' have a sentence that says "he was definately not a powerful wizard")

1. I don't think McGonagall, Flitwick, Madam Rosmerta, Hagrid and Fudge would mention his being "hopeless at dueling" if he was really a fairly powerful wizard... it's kind of a don't-speak-ill-of-the-dead thing...

2. It's hinted that the main reason he was friends with Sirius, Lupin and James, and later with Voldemort, is because he depended on having the powerful friends... most of the time, if someone is fairly competent themselves, they don't hide behind their friends' power

3. There's evidence to show he wasn't all that bright (it took him much longer to learn animagi, he was "hopeless at dueling") but there's not any evidence to show that he was. At the most, he's gutsy. But I don't think he's got a lot to shout about as far as magical talent goes...

I thought Voldemort actually says something about what a talentless wizard wormtail was in his speach to the DE's.
Something along the lines of even though he was a poor wizard he was able to preform the necessary magic to bring me into a rudimentary body.

Yeah, but then again, Voldemort isn't exactly generous with compliments, is he? I mean, even if Wormtail were a talented wizard, Voldy wouldn't say so, because Wormtail is still a bumbling idiot...

that said, I still think Wormtail has almost zippo talent.

I do agree that Wormtail will be the last of the group. I don't want to think of Lupin dieing, but I have come to realize that JK Rowling uses a bunch of Mythology in her writing. I believe in Mythology, you may correct me if I am wrong, that there was a character names Remus who was killed by a silver hand. I don't want to think that it is true but it is highly possible.
