That's what I've been thinking too, we cannot be so sure. But then what would be his job at the Order? And where did Dumbledore send him at the end of book 4?
2) Isn't the dark mark supposed to burn in Voldemort's presence? Harry's scar did.
3) If Snape's scar burnt, did Dumbledore know?
4) Why was Snape staring at the ceiling when he told DD about Voldemort's return? Remember you need eye contact for legilimency (book 4, pensieve scene)
I think that Snape's mark did burn and he told it to Dumbledore (in the Pensieve). As for why was he staring at the ceiling, I always assumed it's only because the way that the Pensieve is positioned, the people in it (when you're not directly inside the memories) do look upwards to the ceiling.
9) During the final task of the triwizard tournament-where is Snape?
What if he had gone back to Voldie before Dumbledore sent him? And therefore Voldie doesn't mention his name, because he wants to keep his identity in secret, so that he can go on spying for him.
10) DD knew that LV could see through Harry's eyes-then why did he run the risk of letting Snape teach him occlumency? LV could very well have entered his mind as well.
That's what I asked myself too. Strange...
